Marriott Hotel Beijing West, China
I decided to take a short break for a holiday to Beijing, China.
Apart from the delayed flight on Air China (popular routes between Hong Kong and China are mostly either Air China or Dragon Air), the hotel room was great. Yes, that’s the picture of me at the Beijing Marriott Hotel West, and what i liked best was my Hotel Suite. 2 big closets, 2 tv sets, sofas, and of course a comfortable bed. Marriott Suite was priced about RMB2,800 a night, but with offers, you could get it for about RMB1,800 a night inclusive of breakfast.
That works out to about US$230 per night. Although i’m constantly struggling with a diet, i just can’t resist those mini eclairs and chocolates in the suite. I’ll just eat first, and worry later !
Just pay for the daily Internet connection, and voila, my internet business office is set up! While checking my emails, i can watch TV too. Sounds just like home.
You should check the location of the Beijing hotels that you are booking and estimate how far / near that will be for your meeting destination. This hotel that i’m staying is at XiSanhuan North Road so by taxi, it takes me about RMB28, roughly 20 minutes from the Tiananmen Square.
To be frank, i didn’t quite enjoy the breakfast buffet, and each day, i was basically just having the eegs, croissant and cereals with milk. I found most of the dishes too salty for my liking.
There’s even Subway and Baskin Robbins downstairs, so i can grab snacks if i had to.
