Crocodile Steaks & Shopping in Shenzhen
Yes, it’s crocodile steaks. The animals are reared in farms, and sold in many Chinese restaurants, with common dishes including crocodile steaks (cheaper than beef steaks), and crocodile meat soup.
I didn’t order the steak so i wouldn’t know how it tasted. I did have boiled crocodile meat soup in the evening at the Pacific Health Spa in Shenzhen, so that soup was quite delicious.
From Hong Kong, you can just take the train and head across ShenZhen Lowu train station. The journey only takes 30 minutes, and after dimsum lunch, i headed to the Spa. Since i was still full, i decided to just walk around, and ended up spending RMB6,000 (US$770) in just 1 hour.
Then, i headed back to the Spa and it was only RMB138 onwards for 1 session of normal massage with free usage of spa facilities. There were oxygen spa, chinese medicine steam bath, and more.
Normally, you tend to overspend and yes, i did again… with my total bill reaching RMB 850 when i settled the bill. Along the way, i added in facial, and choose a higher price massage. There’s even a restaurant inside the Spa, that allows you to order Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine.
I headed back to the Lowu station, to head back to Hong Kong as it closes by 12 midnight. For those that are intersted for 24 hour cross border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen then you should head for the Bus Station at Wukong that has these services.
