Using Contest as one of your Business Marketing Tactics?
Contests are great way to boost more sales to your website but sometimes you end up seeing contest with little participation from the customers or website visitors. It definitely helps if you have a great reward or grand prize to give out, but most of the time, it’s how you promote the Contest that counts.
During one of my dinners at Langham Place, Mongkok in Hong Kong, i was attracted by the huge display of Barbie Doll Collections there. Just like regular girls, Barbie has always been on my list of Wanted items for preferred toys when i was a young girl. Check out the cool collection of Barbie dolls photos i’ve taken here, and i didn’t know that there were so many types of clothes and appearances to a Barbie Doll.

I remembered my first Barbie doll when i was as young as seven years old, and i would have so much fun making my doll look pretty. Then this role playing stopped when my younger brother twisted her head off, and i was miserable. Looking through the displays of the limited edition dolls from all around the world, i was attracted into re-owning a Barbie doll again.
However, the dolls that you see there were not for sale. The good news is that if you spend a certain amount at the shopping mall, you will be entitled for a lucky draw contest form, that allows you to win a limited edition Year 2006 Barbie Doll! Doesn’t she look elegant? Of course, as usual, i submitted bills, and got myself the lucky draw coupon. As an extra perk, they even gave out post cards of designer-wear Barbie, all dressed up in things like Versus, Versace, Armani and more. Check out how fashionable the Barbie Dolls looked in these samples here.

The contest prize was not a car, or a brand new apartment, but it was a themed contest whereby participants were interested to win an experience of winning a limited edition item, which is one of the most well-known collectible toys.
I’m just hoping that i’ll be the lucky one too…..when the draw results appear.

Unless there is an outstanding promotion I would doubt contests generating much traffic.
