Bird Nest’s Buffet at Marco Polo Hong Kong hotel
I read about this bird nest buffet serving on weekends, in one of those local Hong Kong food magazine reviews. So, I made a reservation and headed here. Edible bird’s nest, is it really that tempting?
Swallow bird’s nest is well known Chinese supplement, that is said to bring youthfulness to the skin, and provides many more benefits to health. It’s especially loved by ladies. However, you won’t get much results if taking bird nest only once in a blue moon. I remembered when I was hooked on bird nest in a earlier period, and I had bird nest every single day continuously for 3 whole months. I did look more vibrant!
For the lazy people like me, I could have the bird nest boiled and then just scoop out from a bottle, or if you want it to taste better, you can broiled the bird nest yourself on a weekly basis.
This hobby doesn’t come cheap as just a few pieces of bird nest can be over HK$2,000 and 1 piece won’t last you long (over 2 days time is pretty reasonable estimate).
The Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel is also located at Tsim Sha Tsui, as a matter of fact, it’s at the Ocean Terminal shopping centre, that is just beside Harbour City shopping mall. There are actually 3 different Marco Polo hotels within the vicinity, so be sure to check with one you are headed to.
Price for the bird nest buffet was about HK$170 per pax, and you’ll get many different snacks made with bird nest. Look at how adorable these mouth-watering desserts look?
I especially liked those cream puffs with bird nest.
This is one dining theme that I’ll be yearning for more… though I have to admit, the images of the bird best quantity do look bigger in the advertisements compared to the actual value that you see in the buffet!
