Domain names registrations hit 112 million in Oct 2006
In the 3rd quarter of 2006, over 112 million domains names have been registered worldwide, according to the recent Verisign industry brief. Apart from the TLDs (top level domains), the ccTLDs (country code top level domain names) also experienced great growth. On average, 2 million .com and .net domain name registrations were registered each month. This shows that more and more websites will be sprouting online, and have you started your Internet Business too?

In a survey conducted by Verisign, 62% of domain names were linked to a live website, meaning a website with multiple pages, and real contents, while 24% were just parked 1 page websites. This means there were about 14% of domain names that did not have websites yet.
