Branding Malaysia Association Annual Dinner @ Dec 8, 2006
Last Friday was the annual dinner of the Branding Malaysia Association at the KLCC Convention Center, and being their new member, i’ve also joined their event. This new convention center is located just next to the popular KLCC shopping mall, but you should not park in the KLCC shopping mall as the walk is very far.
Check out the display of ballons that night, made up of balloons, similar in colour to the Malaysian flag. The main focus of the association was to brand Malaysian products, and companies to the World. On that night, I had 2 interesting incidents.
The first funny incident was that, while we were mingling among guest, one of them, a General Manager of Sales for a leading lingerie brand, actually asked me, “are you Fione? The one in the internet advertisement?”. It seems that he was one of our eOneNet.com members, and have been receiving our regular enewsletter. We had a good laugh, as now i’m sure he would have preferred the “internet picture” version of me.
It was a rainy day, but that did not stop many of the members to join in the event. With over 50 tables, it was a huge event, plus early birds even had the chance to view some of the display booths outside the hall. It was the 6th year anniversary event and my first dinner event in this new convention centre in KL.
I wore a purple & pink dress, with beaded tassles on the sides of the dress, and a red mini Gucci evening bag. The small bag was good enough to store in name cards, credit cards, cash, lipstick, car key, tissue paper, and even my cute Sony pink digital camera. However upon arrival, i tried snapping a few shots and realised after the 3rd picture that i had forgotten to charge my digital camera. Good thing, i had my Motorola 2megapixel camera on hand.
I would rate the food as being just average, compared to many others that i’ve had during hotel functions. However, the atmosphere was lively with music band, and lucky draws by tables as well as for individual ticket holders. Our table no. 36 managed to get a table lucky draw and all of us walked away with swimming goggles. Not too bad, compared to some others who walked away with can drinks.
Apart from Malaysian companies, there were also Taiwan delegates, business owners of Taiwanese companies seeking co-operation with the local companies.
Before leaving, i was also talking to another lady while leaving the function, and she was as Director of her own company dealing with palm oil and many other industrial supplies. She was wearing a nice shell themed blue necklace and that was how our conversation started. Within minutes, she asked me the similar question, are you Fione? She actually attended one of our normal internet marketing seminars years ago (which was www.eonenet.com/system_register.htm ) and her sister was also a home study coaching participant of our advanced making money online program ( http://www.internetmarketingcoaching.com/internet_marketing_course.htm ). It does show that the world is small, where the interaction is still so important - It’s people connecting with people.
At the end of the day, i headed towards the car parking located next to the lobby (missed the underground covered carpark entry point), and drove home. Here i am at home, after removing my jewelry, while still in the purple, pink dress.
