It was raining cats and dogs, and I made my way to the StarHill Gallery for my birthday dinner. Parked my car at the Mariott Hotel jockey, and I even had time to browse through the new Louis Vuitton store in StarHill.

The dinner venue was Fisherman’s Cove, which had its original outlet in the Pangkor Laut Resort. It was the first time I’ve dined in this restaurant but the food turned out to be pretty amazing as well.

I’ll be able to share the delicious fusion cooking styles for the 6 course dinner I had. I’ll just go on a diet after this meal (that’s what I’ve been telling myself for years).

I started off with the appetizers that included shrimp carpacio. Yes, it looks like sashimi here right? Thinly sliced shrimp meat and I can tell you, it’s very delicious.

For the soup, I choose the asparagus cream soup with crab meat, and there were lots of crab meat chunks inside. Check out my food review video here.

Next, came the main course which was the honey glazed cod fish. At the bottom, there was grilled rice and it tasted like crackers. Each dish was a masterpiece in display, so after I started eating, it didn’t seem as beautiful anymore. Although still in a mess, the taste is still good, and you can see how happy I was when I am eating in the video here.

Ending on a sweet note, was the warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream. Truly amazing! I love desserts and the portion was just nice. View my dessert video here too. The only drawback was that the fresh fruit juice was below expectation. At RM12 per glass it was rather “watered” down, so I’ll recommend the “freeze”, which was like ice blended mix juice. That was better than the fruit juices.

The whole dinner lasted over 2 hours and at the end of it, I was rather tired, and happily headed home.

Other StarHill Gallery restaurants I frequently dine at, include Shook and the Thai Jim Thompson restaurant
