Ajisen Ramen, japanese ramen chain outlet

This is one of my favourite restaurant ! Ajisen Ramen. No matter where i am, when i spot an Ajisen Ramen nearby, my stomach growls of hunger (even if i’ve just eaten).

This is me at Ajisen Ramen @ Beijing’s Oriental Plaza located near the Wang Fu Jing shopping area.

A typical bowl of ramen in Ajisen in China costs RMB20, and i’ve tasted them in Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai. My love for Ajisen Ramen started when i first ate them at the Raffles City shopping centre in Shanghai. In Shanghai, you can have lots of outlets be it Raffles City shopping centre, Nanjing Lu or Huai Hai Lu. You will not miss the stores for sure. However in Shanghai, expect a long queue during peak hours of lunch time, dinner time and on weekends.

In Hong Kong, you also can find their outlets in Yaumatei / Mongkok area, and Tsim Sha Tsui’s Cameroon Road. A bowl of ramen noodles here cost HK$40. For travellers to Hong Kong, you can even get Ajisen Ramen at the airport at the same price.

Ajisen Ramen also have outlets in Singapore now and i’ve tried them at the Ngee Ann City shopping mall’s Takashimaya food outlet and Bugis Junction shopping mall too. The price is S$10 per bowl.

What would i recommend you to try out? First definitely ramen or japanese noodles. You will be spoilt for choices be it miso ramen (bean soup) or hot & spicy soup noodles. In Hong Kong, they have a soup called pumpkin soup ramen but i find it to be moderate. In Singapore, they even have a tom yam soup version but i find that too oily & quite spicy. I prefer the regular ramen with Japanese flavours like shoyu or miso.

A good choice to try out is also the Cold noodles. It’s very delicious. There are even many appetizers that are affordable at about HK$18 each. For instance the baby octopus (red ones) and scallop wings. At Japanese noodles outlets like this, you will be able to taste the different types of noodles like soba, udon or ramen.

My favourite item from Ajisen are actually the chicken wings. Differents cities have different choices of offerings. In Hong Kong, you can have chicken wings with fish caviar inside for about HK$18. Yes basically, parts of the chicken wings bones are removed and new ingredients are stored in. In Shenzhen, they just have regular chicken wings but in Shanghai & Beijing you can have chicken wings with other ingredients inside.

Another item you should try out are their dessert menu (not available in Hong Kong). You see the big ice-cream sundae in the picture? It’s actually a green tea parfait with green tea ice cream, whipped cream, red bean, and fruits. Definitely high calories, but too delicious to skip!

    Hi Elad,

You can go to the ramen chain store like Ajisen Ramen and you’ll be spoilt for choices. How i missed them now too because i’m in Malaysia this week and they don’t have this store here

The one i ate in Beijing was at the Beijing’s Oriental Plaza located near the Wang Fu Jing shopping area.

You should also try out their starters / snacks like the chicken wings plus their dessert of green tea ice-cream parfait.

    Rgds, Fione

I love eating and Ajisen has a great selection in both Hong Kong, and China. I didn’t quite like their versions in Singapore, i wonder why?
