Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Versace Topped Most Coveted Fashion Brands Online

Posted by Harrace (Hong Kong)

While I was doing research for my last post on Giorgio Armani Fashion Show Video and Internet Marketing, I came across a survey that shows Giorgio Armani, Gucci, and Versace are the world’s most coveted designer brands.

12 percent of global consumers already purchased Giorgio Armani and/or Gucci! How can we make money on these ultra hot products online?

This survey was conducted on the Internet in November, 2005 on 21,000 consumers in 42 countries across Europe, Asia Pacific, UAE, North and Latin America, by AC Nielsen.

Another 30 percent of the consumers said they would buy these brands in the future if money was not a concern.

Here are some of my insights to this phenomenon:

1. Giorgio Armani and Gucci are not selling fashion. They are selling image, luxurious identity, which consumers are willing to pay a premium for. So instead of competing for price, we should strive to build a brand so that we can charge a premium for our products and/or services.

Similarly, eOneNet.com has been building our brand as the top Internet marketing company in Asia online and offline. We are not selling seminars. Rather, we are selling results and solutions (to get top rankings in search engines, increase traffic, increase sales, start an Internet business from A to Z etc). That’s why our clients are willing to pay a premium for our products and services.

2. Luxury goods such as Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Versace, Prada, Chanel, Dior, Ralph Lauren are ultra hot-selling products online and offline.

So instead of selling cheap products online, it will be a good idea to source for luxury goods to sell online, which will have a higher profit margin per order, and there is no need to write a lengthy sales letter to sell these products! Consumers will buy as long as you can convince them these are genuine, your price is reasonable, and your website is credible.

3. Internet marketing helps to build their brands AND increase their sales online. So whether you are a small brand or global brand, if you are not deploying Internet marketing strategies effectively, you are sending your potential customers to your global competitors who are actively doing so.

People in different countries have different favourite brands. According to the survey, UAE consumers are buying Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Consumers in India prefer Gucci, Giorgio Armani, LV and Dior, while in China, the most favourite brands are Chanel and Versace, followed by LV and Giorgio Armani.

My most favourite brand is Versace as I am now wearing a Versace belt and carrying a Versace wallet. At home, I’ve also got Versace shirt, sweater, ties and one pair of soft leather Versace shoes.

What is your most favourite fashion brand?
