eOneNet.com Sues Internet Marketing Seminars Promoter for Website Copyright Infringement
Posted by Harrace
eOneNet.com’s Malaysia lawyer has filed a writ in Malaysia court to sue an Internet marketing seminars organizer and promoter alleging website copyright infringement.
As most of you would know, eOneNet.com has been conducting and organising Internet marketing seminars in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and other countries since 2000, which are being described and posted on our site at www.eOneNet.com, copyright of which are claimed by eOneNet.com.
However, this seminar promoter during the course of promoting another Internet marketing seminar has copied some of our website contents in its promotional emails and advertisements without our consent. Despite demand from our lawyer, they have not complied with our claim for damages and other remedies.
We don’t mind having competition, which is in fact good for the Internet marketing industry, as this will help to create more awareness for the need to do Internet marketing. However, we take a serious view of others infringing our copyright, whether intentionally or unwittingly.
This is just the first of a series of cases eOneNet.com will be launching in Asia to defend our copyright. One side effect of our action we hope to create is to educate the public about the need to respect copyright and to comply with copyright law.
If you have also been a victim of copyright infringement for your works or website contents, you are welcome to share your experience here.

This is what I always believed……once I told Fione during her blog seminar that another internet marketing company is also starting its blog seminar after EONENET advertised its 1st blog seminar. Well as you mentioned competition is welcome as long it does not meddle with the copyright law. In the world of business ….if you have an idea that does not mean no one else could think the same… it is about who can launch or implement the ideas first and make it works that counts……

Hi, Suhail,
There is a difference between copying others’ ideas, which are legal, and copying the contents of an article, a web page, or a book, or even the structure of a seminar, which may be illegal and subject to claims for copyright infringement.
To commit copyright infringement, it doesn’t mean you have to copy 100% of the contents. As long as the copying is substantial and looks like the original author’s works, there may be a breach already.

As mentioned by Fione before and in e1net free internet report \”How To Sell Online and Make Real Money in 7 Steps\”, one of the best ways to test how \”hot\” is the product in the internet market this is to do a research in the pay-per-click search engine at overture.com.
However, such facility is no longer exist at overture recently. Is there any other ways or websites that do the same.

Hi, Hazlan,
You can check the bidding prices for keywords for overture.com after opening an account and logging in.
However, you can still check the no. of searches for keywords at inventory.overture.com
