How to accept credit card using Paypal?
One of the popular ways to accept payment online (to accept credit card payments from your website) are to use third party ecommerce accounts. The most well known one is of course to use Paypal.
1. First, you need to join paypal. Have you done so? Get a minimum of premier account if you are using individual name and business account is you will be using a company name (but must have the same name bank account).
- and not using the personal paypal account as this will have some trading amount restrictions
2. After completing your application on Paypal, you need to enter your credit card inside for paypal to verify your identity. Then wait for your ct card statement for the 4 digit code that paypal will show in your credit card bill. Initially your paypal status will be called unverified and also be limited in terms of amounts you can accept or send out.
Use that code to upgrade your paypal account as a verified account.
3. How to sell online using Paypal?
In the paypal members area, go to the Merchant Tools section and there are both the Shopping cart and Buy now function.
- each item that you sell must be inserted here and each item will have its unique code.
- then these codes you need to copy & paste to the correct product item description section in your webpage source code or inside the site builder that you are using.
- you can even set to be US$ or HK$ or many other local currencies, but if you are selling worldwide, you should set the pricing as in US$

Register for your Paypal account today & start accepting money online via credit cards from your website.
Paypal works well with many countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong and you can either get your sales collection stored in Paypal via:-
a) Telegraphic transfer into your Bank Account in selected countries
b) Cheque payment issued to your name
c) Money withdrawal from a USA bank account
However, for Malaysian entrepreneurs or companies, their only choice to take out their funds is via the USA bank account whereby the Paypal money, eg US$500 can be transferred to an American banking institution and not to any other bank accounts (even if you are a Malaysian with Singapore bank account, etc). Do also read the terms of agreement when signing up with Paypal as if you try to “hide your real country of residence / business operations” from Paypal, eventually your online account will also be frozen.
I’ll be sharing with you more options about how Malaysians can accept credit card online in the upcoming blog postings.

I trust only payment myself.
I tried to use paypal, payment asia, and epaylink before.
But for my personal perference, I would perfer paypal when I was doing some ebay online business and it got very good reputation but they charge quite a bit of commission.
But if you are a Online business owner( own your website), u can also use epaylink on your site as well, they are online payment system linked directly on your site. Its easiler for your customer to make payment.
p.s Same as paypal, charge will be apply thru transaction!

I am using PaymentAsia and Paypal.
The only problem I have from time to time is the chargeback. Paypal is more with the buyers and PaymentAsia use Verify by Visa and SecureCode. I dont find this too helpful.

Blackberry,
Our direct with bank ecommerce merchant account is also using visa verified, mastercard secure and sometimes if the issuing banks connection with your own bank is not too smooth then the transaction cannot be completed correctly.
At the end of the transaction to reduce the chargebacks, the best thing you can do is to counter check the delivery info and if the amount is too huge, you can choose to ask the customer to send via TT (telegraphic transfer), eg if the order is about US$10,000 or more.
