20% of Hong Kong Beauty Fair Exhibitors Signed Up eOneNet’s Internet Marketing Seminars !
Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach
eOneNet.com participated in the Hong Kong Beauty and Fashion Accessories Fair organised by Ronald, eOneNet’s past Internet marketing coaching participant last Sunday.
Yours truly at eOneNet booth
Guess how many people were manning our booth? Only Fione and me!
The no. of visitors to the Fair was surprising low, due to the location of the Fair in Kowloon Bay, which is not a popular exhibition venue, unlike the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre in Wanchai, where most of the international exhibitions are being held.
We had to change our strategies from selling to visitors to selling to other exhibitors in the Fair. This strategy did work! By the end of the day, a whopping 20% of the exhibitors signed up and paid for our Internet marketing seminars to be held in May in Hong Kong!
How did we manage to sell to other exhibitors?
Here are a list of what we’ve done to attract and sell to other exhibitors:
1. We set up a LCD projecting our videos in the booth. As we are the only exhibitor having video presentation at our booth, this made our booth a centre of attraction.

2. I went to visit other exhibitors’ booth, getting to know what they were doing, and inviting them to drop their name cards to participate in our lucky draw.
3. We held lucky draws for several times during the day, with attractive and high perceived value prizes of e1Net Computer Headset Microphones, worth HK$148.
Yours truly presenting the prize to one of the lucky participants, who happened to attend our Internet marketing seminars previously. It’s surprising the excitement we have created when annoucing the winners.
4. We presented a Beauty and Slimming Internet Marketing seminar focusing on how the beauty and slimming industry can use Internet marketing to promote their products and services, including spas and slimming treatments.

Impressive that you managed to turn the situation to your advantage! It’s already a feat to attract visitors, let alone those exhibitors. I think the most important thing is that one must sell a genuine product/service that will prove to be of value to the customers. A plus point would be to offer additional benefits that other products/services do not have. But of course, even with a fabulous product, it will still need some gimmicks to increase its appeal.

As entrepreneurs, we really got to adapt to any situations we may face. For this case, you guys had done a great job! For my team, we always spoke to other exhibitors when we do roadshow or exhibitions. By the way, I am also in the beauty industry promoting DR\’s Secret skin care product.
Any ideas to share to improve my site? Thanks.

Internet marketing may be prevalent in various industries but still different strategies need to be applied for each one. Which industry is the hardest to enter into their market?

I join some of the exhibitions these years, a lot with their names forgot already.
But all of them have a same situation: they have peak hour and low hour. Peak hour normally is lunch office hour for weekdays, friday night and weekend. These day sure the exhibition center will flood with people.
And in Malaysia, there will be some changes for the peak hour, normally the time between 7p.m-9.30p.m will not be much people.
Why? Guess……………
It’s is dinner time.
Yes, it is dinner time but that is not the correct answer.
The correct is : it is sembayang time!
So never think after 7p.m, these people after work will sure flood to the exhibition, these people will go to mosque or Surau first. After half an hour of praying, then they will gradually appear on your booth.
Some of the international exhibition in K.L is really useful and some not. The value of the exhibition is you must get the customers that you wised and doing pubicity for your company.
I once join the exhibition at MIHAS in The Mines exhibition center, there I met 1 family from England where they search from products that is HALAL and can be commercially market at U.K.
So I engage with them and luckily they get interested with the products I sold.
Guess what…..
Now they are in the processing stage to get the products into U.K. They have pharmarcy chain store in there and the order volume is guaranteed.
Wish you all can get something next time when you join an exhibition.
Have a nice day!
