How To Apply for Hong Kong CEF - Continuing Education Fund

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

Update: eOneNet.com’s Hong Kong CEF Certificate in Practical Internet Marketing web page now launched. CLICK HERE

We conducted the 1st briefing for eOneNet’s new Certificate in Practical Internet Marketing in Hong Kong last night, with details as to how to apply for Hong Kong CEF (Continuing Education Fund) to claim course fee reimbursable up to HK$10,000.

Who is qualified to apply?

  • Hong Kong residents
  • Between age 18 and 60 at the time of application and claiming reimbursement of the course fee.

Other requirements

To be able to claim back the course fee up to HK$10,000, students should comply with the following requirements:

  • Attendance rate of 80% or above (including physical classes and online meetings)
  • Achieving an average passing score of 50% for course assignments and examinations.

Unlike eOneNet’s existing Internet Marketing Coaching program, the students now need to comply with required attendance rate and do assignments and sit for exams. This is not a bad idea, as students can attain formal qualification afterwards.

So other than being able to start their own Internet business or bring their existing businesses to the next level, globally, students may also use this qualification to enhance their career path, if they choose to.

When I was on board the plane flying from Singapore back to KL last week, I bumped into KC See, the CEO of MasteryAsia, and one of my mentors. We were discussing corporate Internet marketing. In his view (which I couldn’t agree less), every company which has a marketing department should have a marketing employee which specializes in doing Internet marketing. If he is hiring a marketing executive and if the candidate got a certificate in Internet marketing, he would give this candidate a preference.

So eOneNet’s Certificate in Internet Marketing can be utilized for at least two different benefits - to kick-start your Internet business (or bring it to next level), or to advance your career as a marketing executive. The best part of it for Hong Kong people, 50% of the fee can be paid by the Government!

Should you promote affiliate programs similar to your own products?

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Affiliate Program tips by Fione Tan, Head Internet Marketing Coach.

During one of my private Internet Marketing coaching sessions, there was a question about whether we should join Competitors’ affiliate programs and if yes, how to choose.

First, decide what are your products’ strengths / advantages compared to your competitors products? Here are some tips on how to join the best affiliate programs of merchants selling similar products.

1. Check the commission payout.

- is it for 1 time sale only or also includes commission on your customers’ future purchases?

- do you get paid based on multi-tier affiliate program? Meaning if your customers become an affiliate and use their own affiliate links to complete the purchase, do you get any benefits too?

2. Choose complementary products / range

- if let’s say you sell ladies crystal watches only so you can join other affiliate programs that sells sporty watches, or other branded watches like Rolex, or Piaget since you do not carry these similar brands.

- also look at what other items / products that your customers might need. If you sell silver jewelry, then maybe you can join other affiliate programs that are selling jewelry boxes, or jewelry care such as silver jewelry polisher.

- if you sell only to Asian markets, then you can look for an affiliate program that can cover the rest of the world, so that your customers can also purchase & send to USA, or Europe.

3. Place the affiliate banners in the proper locations on your site

- if the affiliate programs are meant to be your side income (one website can have multiple sources of income), then you should avoid placing competitors’ affiliate programs banners or text links on your own order page, or sales pages.

- insert on other informational pages, eg articles, frequently asked questions, etc

- you can even choose to feature a specific affiliate program product or link directly to the product page of your recommended product. Sample of linking to a specific product page can be viewed on this blog posting :-

http://eonenet.com/wedding_blog/2007/02/27/wedding-jewelry-accessories/
#more-14

This means that those affiliate programs that you join can appear not only in your website, but also in your other blogs.

At the end of the day, you can always sell or recommend a Book about this product from Amazon’s affiliate program. No matter whether you are selling a diet pill or an online stocks trading software, there are surely some books and ebooks written on the market. Therefore when you recommend books from Amazon itself, then you can also earn some commissions from the order.

1st Hong Kong Internet Marketing Blog Workshop Reveals Traffic Booster Secrets

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

I am back to Hong Kong and will stay for one week here, conducting a series of Internet marketing seminars, including the first blog marketing hands-on workshop (the first of its kind in Hong Kong), which we will conduct in a computer lab today.

eOneNet conducted the first Internet marketing blog seminar in Hong Kong on 21 December, 2006. (Actually I can’t remember this date and have to refresh my memory by referring to one of our press releases). This is a basic 3 hours seminar which reveals how we can use blogs to market and promote products and services, and get more traffic and top rankings in search engines.

Unlike the basic seminar, the blog workshop that we are conducting today is hands-on with PC and live Internet. During the workshop, the participants are guided step-by-step how to open real blogs, and make postings. More importantly, we will reveal our secrets of doubling our website traffic and getting hundreds more of top rankings in search engines within 6 months of the launch of our Internet Marketing blog.

All the participants today have attended or will be attending eOneNet’s Internet Marketing Coaching program. They will learn how to make effective use of blogs to further enhance their website traffic and online sales.

I will invite them to post some comments here, and let’s see what they have to say!

Online Advertising Grows 35% in 2006

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

I am not surprised that online advertising has grown 35% in 2006 (for the US market), reaching US$16.9 billion, according to latest report by Interactive Advertising Bureau.

The highest growth rate was 40% for keyword search. No wonder search engines are making record sales!

For eOneNet, one of our strong online marketing channels is also keyword search via search engines, but the difference is we don’t have to pay as we are able to get hundreds or even thousands of top rankings for various keywords for our diversified products and services, for free.

What are your best online marketing channels, which generate leads and sales for you?

Singapore Internet Marketing Seminar Participant Makes A Strong Comment

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

A particpant who attended one of our basic Internet marketing seminars in Singapore last week sent me an email. She is from Hong Kong but is now working in Singapore. Her email is inspiring to me and probably to you too. So after seeking her consent, I reproduce it here.

——-

Fione and Harrace

Hi, this is my first time writing to you and I hope you do remember me. I am the one who first signed up for the coaching course yesterday afternoon. It’s really nice talking to you as you are so down-to-earth and amiable. I am so glad having signed up for the course and although, my coaching course is still 1 1/2 months away, I am so excited and how I wish that I can start the course even earlier because I know, after acquiring the skills and good tips from experts like you, I will be out there making REAL MONEY and then my S$4K investment (course fees) will be covered in no time!!

I am well aware of the great potential of what ecommerce offers and especially at this golden age of IT. I am a HongKonger who migrated to Singapore many years ago. Two years ago, I started to take notice of China Alibaba, Taobao and many other equivalent B2B, B2C platforms. So many opportunities but so little people in Singapore know how to grab them. In fact, I am preparing to start my own shop on the internet, targeting to a niche market and I need good and practical skills for selling on the Net. However, there is always a gap between Small/Medium setups to the so call internet service providers. Things are so “technical’ and unless you have the $$$ to pay for a single agent who can do everything for you. Otherwise, D.I.Y may save $$$ but definitely not saving time. I was once searching for web-design Company, hosting company, merchant account providers and many more of other services. It was SOOOOO tedious! My last and best solution is sticking to Ebay and I almost had subscribed an ebayStore until yesterday morning…..

Somehow, I keyed “Adword” to a search engine, that’s where I got to know your company and fortunately, you had two seminars and I attended the one in the afternoon. I want to tell the two of you that “I HAVE FOUND WHAT I WANT!!!” I intend to officially launch my shop in Nov 2007. I look forward to the day when I can provide a good and detailed testimonial recommending your company and services. Also, other than just a student/client relationship of e1Net, I wish we can become friends too! (Fione and my birthdays are actually 1 month apart only).

By the way, I had also purchased the DVDs and was told that I can only get them in June. May I request getting it earlier so that I can learn now? I will definitely attend the workshop and do the homework with diligence. Your course is such a good thing and how I wish I know you guys 2 years ago!

PeiPei

How To Choose An Internet Marketing Coach Without Getting Conned

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

While I was in Singapore this week, one of our seminar participants consulted me regarding his desire to start an Internet marketing business. He is working as both a real estate agent and a taxi driver in the Lion City. He knows he needs to attend an Internet marketing coaching program in order to learn the shortcut to Internet success. He was then seriously considering joining eOneNet’s program.

But he showed me two ads in Singapore, both promoting free previews trying to sell Internet marketing seminars and Internet marketing coaching program, and the fees charged by them are 1/3 of our coaching fee. So his question is how to choose the best Internet marketing coach or Internet marketing seminar.

Here is my advice:

1. The first factor to consider is to ask whether the Internet marketing coach is making money online, and if so, how much? There is a huge difference for someone making a few thousands and another one making millions of dollars, each year. You won’t need a coach who can just teach you the theory of making money online.

2. If a coach is claiming he has made a lot money online, can he prove it, by showing his online payment statement? On the Internet, beware of a lot of bogus claims.

3. Is the coach practising what he preaches?

Many self-proclaimed Internet marketing coaches are “overnight” gurus who have made some money by selling ebooks or making money information.

Even if a coach can prove he is making money online, find out what is his main source of income. Most of the Internet marketing coaches’ main income is by selling making money information, and then by teaching. And if if they claim you can make millions of dollars without selling anything, or even without doing any hard work, you better beware.

If you want to sell physical products, and if the coach cannot prove he has sold physical products successfully, how can he be qualified to teach you to do so?

4. Search for the keyword “Internet marketing coach” or “Internet marketing coaching” in Google or Yahoo. These keywords represent this industry and their top rankings are eyed on by millions of Internet marketing coaches globally and are therefore extremely competitive.

If this coach’s website cannot be found on page 1 of the search results, but he claims he can teach you how to be on top of search engines, how can he be qualified to do so?

It’s funny to see some websites claiming they can teach you SEO, when their sites can only be found in sponsored links (meaning they are probably teaching you search engine advertising and not free search engine optimization techniques).

But don’t get me wrong. Being able to be on top of search engines for these keywords can enable you to claim you are ranked top Internet marketing coach in search engines, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you are the top Internet marketing coach. That’s why when we first started claiming eOneNet is the top Internet marketing coach ranked by search engines way back in 2003, there were some critics who were not very happy with our claim.

However, after 4 years, when we have proved our extraordinary achievements, and when we have become the benchmark of Internet marketing or Internet marketing coaching where many other Internet marketers (in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and elsewhere) are trying to copy us, whether the meta tags keywords in our sites, our Internet marketing seminars, or Internet marketing coaching, there is no strong objection that eOneNet is now the de facto top Internet marketing coach in Asia, or even worldwide.

5. What kind of coaching support is the coach able to offer you? Because of limited resources and manpower, most of them can offer you only email support, which is the lowest degree of support.

You should find someone, or rather a reputable Internet marketing company, who has perfected an online support system, such as online members’ area with uploaded course materials, online ticket system for asking and answering questions, plus support from the technical team.

It will even be better if the coach can track your learning progress via an online tracking system, e.g. whether you have submitted the assignments online or attended any online meetings.

6. Can the coach offer you regional support, in particular, if you want to target the market in China? Does the coach have regional physical offices in other countries? Is he able to show you top rankings in local search engines in China and Hong Kong, and even Chinese rankings in top China search engines such as Baidu and Yahoo.com.cn?

7. Has the coach groomed any successful Internet entrepreneurs, in selling different types of products, services and information? If yes, how successful they are? Has any of their coaching participants made millions of dollars online?

8. Is the coach teaching you most of the things you need to learn to make money online during the seminar or coaching? Or is he only interested in upselling you to other more expensive seminars, programs or websites?

If there are two Internet marketing coaches - one fulfills ALL the above criteria, and the other fulfils none but is charging only 1/3 of the coaching fee of the first one, which one would you choose?

At the end of the consultation, the Singapore real estate agent and taxi driver made the choice, and signed up for the coaching program which is 3 times more expensive.

If you want to add any other criteria for choosing an Internet marketing coach, feel free to do it here.

Singapore Internet Marketing Seminars Reveals How To Start Making Money Online

Friday, May 11th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

After a hectic but fruitful week in Hong Kong, Fione and I are in Singapore this week, to conduct a series of Internet marketing seminars and Internet marketing blog seminar (which is already FULL HOUSE).

I have sometimes received enquiries from emails and this blog:

”How can I start making money online, if I don’t have money to participate in your Internet marketing coaching?”

My reply would be:

1. We have 12-month interest free installments for selected credit cards, in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. There is no reason you can’t pay a small monthly fee to start your Internet business. If you really can’t afford this small monthly fee, you have a stronger reason to start your Internet business to increase your income.

2. If you know you are guaranteed to make US$4,000 in 5 weeks (like what Franco did in 100teddybear.com), or make back the investment in 3 months, then became a full time seller online, and got an award from Yahoo being one of the popular sellers within 6 months and will be close to making the first 6 figure income (like Ryan in 18crystal.com), or get 70% of customers from online, and got the biggest order for HK$300,000 (like Ruby in glass-expert.com), would you be able to raise the small monthly fee?

3. You can take the first step by attending eOneNet’s popular basic Internet marketing seminars - How to sell online and make real money in 10 steps, and the Blog marketing seminar - How to make money with Blogs, for just a small fee.

4. You can start taking action after attending these two basic seminars, as you will be equipped with the basics to get you started.

5. I know you like free stuffs. Sign up for free eOneNet membership and the free subscription for this blog, to get more free tips of Internet marketing, including success stories. After signing, be sure to check your email to verify your membership or subscription as this is a verified opt-in list.

If you have any questions regarding how to start an Internet business, you are welcome to post your questions here.
