Airline Corporate Blogger Reveals Secrets of Business Growth Via Blog Marketing

Friday, May 11th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

My previous post of Invitation To Submit Your Internet Business Success Stories has drawn some positive response, not just from eOneNet Internet marketing seminars participants.

I just received a submission from a top corporate blogger with an interview revealing the secrets of success of a corporate blog - SouthWest Airline.

Here you are:

Harrace:

I think this interview which we ran today on the Buzz Bin blog would be of interest to you readers:

Nuts About Southwest Demonstrates True Social Interaction
May 8th, 2007 by Geoff Livingston Interviews (e)

It’s one of the leading corporate blogs on the Internet, and it just turned one year old. Nuts About Southwest’s Brian Lusk took the time to interview with the Buzz Bin and give us some insights on how the blog has helped the airline. In a very revealing interview, Lusk says the company changed strategic direction on assigned seating and advanced scheduling thanks to community feedback on the blog. Read on for an exciting look at how community and transparency can work to benefit a major company.

BB: How does it feel now that Nuts About Southwest has passed that year mark?

BL: The one-year mark is a significant milestone with our blog, and it has been an exciting and gratifying year. It seems odd to say this, but considering that a year is like a lifetime in the blogosphere, our blog has matured and received a lot of accolades from other bloggers. It has become a source of information for the mainstream media, including CNN and The Wall Street Journal, but to us the greatest accomplishment is that the blog has become a part of our readers and our Company’s life.

BB: How has the company embraced the blog? (more…)

Internet Marketing Blog Seminar Reveals More Hong Kong Success Stories

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet marketing coach

eOneNet presented another full-house blog marketing seminar in Hong Kong this evening.

Only 3 of the participants opened blogs, but none of them are making money with their blogs. So this blog marketing seminar, which reveals how to make money with blogs is most suitable for them.

There was a prize presentation to one of the winners of our blog contest, Ruby, who purchased eOneNet’s Internet marketing video DVD home study course one year ago.

Prize presentation to Ruby

This is the prize for Stage 1 of the blog contest - one e1Net wireless rechargeable mouse and one e1Net computer headset microphone.

Ruby is now 5-month pregnant!

She took this chance to share her success story to us for the first time. After applying what she learned from the Internet marketing DVD, she helped her husband to launch a website selling glass. She’s excited to reveal that 70% of the business now comes from online! Recently, she got an order for a huge sum of money, the exact amount I will ask her to share in a post here. Stay tuned for another inspiring success story, by a pregnant lady working from home!

After the seminar, Fione and I went for dinner in a restaurant nearby with some coaching participants and one of the seminar participants. They continued to share more of their success stories!

No doubt the shortcut to Internet marketing success is to learn from successful role models. So we will create a new category in this blog “Internet Marketing Business Success”.

If you have attended eOneNet’s Internet marketing seminars or Internet marketing coaching, or have benefited from eOneNet’s services or advice, you are welcome to submit your success stories to harrace@eonenet.com. You don’t need to make a huge sum of money. The success can be making the first $1,000, or the first S$10,000, getting top rankings in search engines, increasing traffic or getting more sales.

What is you haven’t attended eOneNet’s seminars but have a success story to share? You better do, before your competitors do! :)  But you are also welcome to email me or leave comments here.

Internet Marketing Seminars Reveals More Success Stories

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

I am back to Hong Kong this week, conducting three Internet marketing seminars - How to sell online and make real money, and one Internet marketing blog seminar - Make Money with Business Blogs. All the seminars were FULL HOUSE, despite there is a fee of HK$150 to HK$280 per ticket!

These seminars are most suitable for newbies, and those who can’t figure out why their websites are dead or nearly dead, as we share the simple step-by-step system to launch and market a successful e-business.

I am delighted that some of eOneNet’s ex-Internet marketing coaching participants re-attended the seminars and shared their successful experience, including:

  • Ryan Li of www.18crystal.com, who revealed that he will be making the first 6 figure income after starting the web business for about 6 months, and he just got a prize presented from Yahoo Hong Kong, being one of the popular sellers there.
  • Alice Sy of www.1maidhk.com, who shared her blog has helped her increase her traffic, and beat her competitors in search engine rankings, and even got an employer in Spain signing a contract for her maids and flying her maids to work there!

I feel comfortable when hearing this kind of real success stories, in particular, from our seminar participants in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. It proves that we, as Asian, can also make real money online, by selling products or services.

Are you losing sales due to poor customer service?

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Business tips by Fione Tan, Internet Marketing Coach

Is customer service still important? How are you ensuring that the quality of your service is good? Even after running my internet business for over 7 years, i can still find flaws and areas of improvement in order to ensure the customers get a great experience when dealing with eOneNet.

I remembered a story that my American expatriate friend, working in Singapore, shared with me about online customer service. Since she was working abroad, she would regularly shop online for gifts to her friends and family members back in USA. During her mother’s birthday, she ordered some gardening books for her mom, from Amazon.com and then called her mom to check whether her mom was happy with the gifts. However, some glitches happened and instead, her mom were sent Algebra and Calculus books.

“I earned US$4,000 selling teddy bears in 5 short weeks!”

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Posted by Franco, 100teddybear.com

It is exactly 13 weeks ago since I launched my teddy bear website, www.100teddybear.com. The journey might seem brief considering that I attended eOneNet’s Internet marketing coaching workshop at e1Net in mid November 2006 that jump-started my leap into cyberspace.

It had been a challenging 8 weeks prior to the website launch. The eOneNet workshop had provided me with an understanding of some of the areas that I could consider. Options were available to me to look at which business model would be appropriate for me. I would have taken the easy route and either launched the platform based on affiliate programs or drop-shippers.

Another choice was e-books. I chose to find a product, promote and market it. I decided to sell teddy bears. These teddy bears that are unlike those generally available in the marketplace.

I headed to the bookstores. I bought books and even more books. Books included topics covering internet marketing, SEO, Blogging, Video-blogging, eBay, Dreamweaver 8. I read and read…trying to gain a more in-depth understanding of the sorts of application of the knowledge gained from my Internet marketing coach, e1Net.

Sourcing for the right teddy bear product has taken a month.

I began designing the website. However, with the timeline that I had to launch my website fast, I finally passed that task to a webmaster. With the knowledge I have equipped myself from e1Net and the books, I working with the webmaster to structure the website that way it should be.

Just a piece of advice here. Never leave it to your webmaster entirely to create and design the website. There are just too many other considerations besides the look and feel of the website. For a website to be able to attract traffic, it is critically important that keywords, meta-tags, site optimization, ranking, google adwords, blog are considered. All these I had to work with the webmaster in addition to the shopping cart and adding a blog to the website.

Finally on January 20, 2007 I was ready to uploaded my website.

First 2 weeks, nothing happened as far as money making was concerned. I was tweaking areas such as my keywords, landing pages, page titles, blog, google analytics. I was also working on my teddy bear blog, http://my1teddybear.blogspot.com with the hope to promote and drive certain amount interests to the website.

Another area I worked on was google adwords and activated the sponsored link. That effort, immediately almost within the same hour, drove traffic to the website from all over the world. I had 85 visitors within the first 5 hours of the google adwords being activated. I generated about 3.5% conversion on average. Over a 5-week duration, I received orders amounting to just over USD 4,000 from the world at large!!

I must say that is pretty impressive for a teddy bear start-up website. Yes!! Heap heap hooray!!

This is just the beginning of the journey. I need to learn constantly especially for things that work online. So I am now attending eOneNet’s Internet marketing blog workshop to get more tips and ideas of marketing blogs and websites, while making this post concurrently. With the solid support from the Internet marketing coaches at e1Net, including Fione and Harrace, this helps to overcome any challenges I am facing during this Internet journey.

I shared my experience during eOneNet’s Internet marketing blog workshop last week.
