Malaysia Internet Marketing Coaching Weekend Becomes A Disaster

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

I flew back to Malaysia yesterday to assist in the Internet marketing seminars to be conducted from Friday evening to Sunday. Before boarding the flight in the Hong Kong Airport, I called my Malaysia office but no one answered the call. Then to my surprise, I found out the phone lines and electricity of the office were down! What about the Internet line? We needed to conduct a blog marketing workshop with live Internet access in the evening. Also down!

After touching down in KL airport, I called back office and this time, it was answered! I was told that the phone lines were up but the Internet line from the building was still down. Luckily, our back-up Internet line from another ISP is still up which we can use for the class.

In the meantime, Fione has purchased 5 sets of 3G Modems card and signed up for unlimited Internet access, and 3 new laptops, so that even if the office Internet lines were down, we can still go online using 3G cards. However, we found that that the 3G card cannot fit the new laptops, because the card and laptop slot does not match. And the card does not support Windows Vista! So we can’t go online with these cards, which costs RM3,500!

The blog marketing workshop was conducted with Internet access from our back-up Internet line smoothly, finally :)

This incident shows the law of nature: Whatever can go wrong will go wrong! But this is not the worst case, which was during the time when we were conducting a seminar in a hotel in Subang, the electricity was down! Fortunately, none of the participants left despite there was no light (other than candle light), and after 15 minutes, the electricity was back.

We still have to conduct two days training in our computer lab this weekend. Let’s keep our fingers crossed everthing will be fine!

Cheers, the blog marketing was very informative. It was like hands full with so much things can be done with blog with all the add, add…… click. The best part this is a live trial. I was really excited and it’s fun.

Yesterday, was my first day of my internet coaching. I was quite familiar with the first part of the workshop. The second part, however, there was some new stuff that I wasn’t sure. For example the google adwords and drawing up a business plan. I think drawing up a business plan is very important. Most people want to start a business but without the proper planning. This is actually the most crucial part of setting up a business which most people have overlooked.

Its a small ripples in the tea cup. Few years back we have a whole country black out. Don’t have to worry so much. Malaysia Boleh-lah.

  6. Elina Says:

Interesting session to learn the tips and tricks of how people actually does business online, but tiring and long day.
Afternoon session is more like a rush-through session.

  7. Palani Says:

Technology has its ups and downs.Believe me everyone goes through this in our very day lives. What is more important is that you achieve what you set out to achieve in the first place despite the very many obstacles placed in front of you.

    Cheers:)

Well, these things do happen and you would find two groups of people. one who would endure and understand and the other who would scream “money back “. I must say that you have been blessed to find an accomodating crowd.
The immediate action taken by Fione was commendable. Spending money to get an alternative solution. What I see is that at all cost you are putting the clients first.
Giving it your best shot before throwing in the towel should be adopted by everyone or organisation in order to succeed.

  10. Yuki Tee Says:

This is the most expensive internet marketing seminar I have attended but the best so far. The lessons are content-rich and interesting.

The staff and technical team of eOneNet are very friendly and helpful. Fione and Harrace are very patient when we asked questions.

I hope I can recover my investment in 3 months time with the support of eOneNet and I believe I can do it.

  11. Louise Says:

The seminar on yesterday was quite interesting especially on the raising funds with business plan session, the time was too short for our team to write the business plan, but we still managed to finished it on time, good team work, and very enjoyable. Can see other teams hardwork and participation.

I would say that the workshop very informative, but the time too short, i would suggest break the workshop into 3 days will be better
