Internet Marketing China - 5 Tips to Sell to the World’s No.1 Internet Population

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan, head Internet Marketing Coach

Which country / region now has the World’s No.1 Internet population?

It has been Asia since about 2 years ago. What is surprising is the no. 1 country is now probably China!

According to China Internet Network Information Center (CINIC), the online population for China has reached 220 million in Feb 2008. During the same period, the USA internet population was estimated at 217 million only. So if China maintains the growth rate for 2007 this year, China’s no. of Internet users can be comfortably No.1 before the end of 2008.

This shows that selling to the Chinese population is definitely one of the hottest new markets for making money online.

eOneNet has also been selling products, services and training to the China market, including our RMB10,000+ Internet Marketing Video and RMB20,000+ training programs.

Here are 5 tips to sell to China online:

Tip #1: Do a Chinese website

In China, it should be simplified Chinese (same for Singapore and Malaysia), whereas for Hong Kong and Taiwan, it should be traditional Chinese. So if your current website is in English , you will need to translate it to simplified Chinese, since most people in China do searches in simplified Chinese. So if your website does not have Chinese contents, there is no way for your site to come up in search engines results.

Tip #2  Search for Popular Keywords in China

You will need to know what people in China are searching and buying for, in particular the Chinese keywords.

First of all, you will need to identify the popular Chinese keywords people are searching for in China in the top search engines, such as Baidu, Yahoo China, Sina, and Google China. You will need to identify the research tools in these different search engines. Because the search behaviour for people in China will be different from people in US, or even Hong Kong. The details will be covered in one of the new topics in our Advanced Internet Marketing Coaching program

Tip #3 Do Chinese SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Some of you may already have an idea what is SEO? If you are targetting the China market, you will also need to do Chinese SEO for your Chinese version, and get top rankings in China search engines. Most of the stuffs that work for English SEO also work for Chinese SEO. The main difference is to identify different China keywords research tools and the China search engines. More details will be also covered in our Advanced coaching program.

Most of our customers from China found out about our sites from one of these search engines. Even they never attended our seminars or met us before, they could fork out RMB10,000+ to buy our DVDs online!

If you search 互聯網行銷 or  互联网行销 (which is Internet Marketing in Chinese) in Yahoo.com.cn, see which is the No.1 website.

Hong Kong Computer Room Rental with New Facilities but Low Costs

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

Being the first in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong or Asia to conduct Internet marketing coaching classes with computers with live Internet connection, we of course need to have good computer lab facilities.

So in Malaysia, we invested by purchasing our own office with a computer lab, and broadline internet lines from two ISPs. However, the lines are still too slow. We have to just fix a 3rd Internet line using another ISP’s wireless Internet!

In Hong Kong, we had been using computer labs from Open University and another computer school. However, the computers and the Internet line still leave much to be desired - the computers too old and slow, the Internet lines too slow, and the LCD projectors too blurred!

In fact, we had been looking for good computer room facilities but surprising, we could not find a good one with central location and with more than 30 computers in Hong Kong!

So we have now opened our own Hong Kong computer lab facilities, with brand new flat-screen computers (installling Window XP instead of the all-time-slow Vista), bright LCD projectors, wireless microphone, wireless laser presenters, sound system with audio cable to connect to laptop.

HK make money online computer lab

Not surprisingly, we received excellent feedback from the classes conducted in this new computer lab, with an average score of 9 out of 10 (from an average of 6 in previous computer rooms) in terms of facilities, environment and computers.

The good news now for you guys is now we are opening our Hong Kong training room and computer room for rental! So if you have any training needs (with or without computers), or you need to rent a conference room in central Hong Kong (Causeway Bay) with full seaview with reasonable affordable rates, check out our new Hong Kong training / computer room webpage at http://eonenet.com/room_rental/training_room_rental_Hong_Kong.htm

To enable you to experience first class facilities, we are now running a limited time promotional offer for 50% OFF for 1st time booking!

Call our Hong Kong office at 852 - 2591 9168 or Book online NOW!

8 tips for Choosing a Million Dollar Domain Name

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

Domain name prices are the same whether if you have a great domain or a bad domain. What is exactly a good domain name? Here are some tips to help you register your million dollar domain name.

1. Insert your product / service keyword into your domain name

- using a keyword in your domain name allows internet visitors to know what your website offers. For example, if you are using selling jewelry then you can add in this keyword to your domain name, such as 1SpecialJewelry.com

2. Avoid dashes in your domain name

- have you seen the domain names like my-website.com ? Not only is this domain name hard to read out, your visitors might just forget this domain name and end up in your competitors website of mywebsite.com

3. Use simple words and spelling

- avoid using “big” words that visitors might not understand and always spell check the keyword before you register this

- there’s nothing worse that using a keyword that you cannot even spell properly (and result in you even misspelling your domain name)

4. Choose the international domain name (top level TLD)

- rather than just registering your eonenet.com.my for local Malaysia market or eonenet.com.hk for the Hong Kong market, grab the eOneNet.com name as this name is easier to remember.

- what if your competitors own the .com and you only registered the .com.sg version? Then, it’s advisable to register another domain name where you can grab both the .com and the .com.sg (otherwise customers who do not type the .sg will end up going to your competitors’ site)

5. Register both the singular and plural versions

Popular questions about choosing a domain name?

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan, Head Internet Marketing Coach

Ready to register your own domain name? Unsure what needs to be done before you choose your domain name? Here are some popular questions asked by entrepreneurs that are starting an Internet Business. Part 1 discusses the issues related to registering a domain name while Part 2 will be covering other topics such as how to transfer a domain name.

1. Do i need a website before i register for a domain name?

No, you don’t need a website before registering a domain name. When you find a great domain name, wait no more and directly buy this .com name first and then decide on how you want to create your website

- normally your domain registrar (the website where you purchased the domain name from), will give you a temporary under construction webpage

2. Do i need to buy hosting before i register for a website domain name?

- you don’t need a hosting account initially as well. Therefore, unless you already know how you will design your website and what software you will choose, then you can add on the web hosting packages at a later date

- some domain name company also offers online site builder like the do-it-yourself website builder we have at http://www.eonenet.com/eoneweb/affordable_web_design.htm where you can just use the given online templates, fill up the forms and your website can be ready in minutes

- if using Dreamweaver or Frontpage to design your website, you will need to buy a hosting account to host your website files

3. Can my website have more than 1 domain name?

Yes, your website can have more than one domain name. This doesn’t mean you display all the registered domain names in your website home page as your website name. You can setup the domain forwarding or url forwarding for each domain name to all go to the same website or to individual different webpages.

Some domain name reigstration companies such as FreeDomainsRegistration.com provides free email forwarding, free starter webpage, free domain masking and other services with their domain name registration fees, while other companies might charge you separately for each of the service.
