1st Chinese Web 2.0 Internet Marketing Seminar in Malaysia

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

I am back to KL and will stay until end of next week to help in a series of Internet marketing seminars in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The Penang Internet marketing seminars will be held on 29 June (Sunday) afternoon and 30 June evening. Fione and I will be there. If you would like to meet up with us, Register now.

Today is the 1st Web 2.0 New Ways of Internet Marketing Seminar conducted in Chinese in our Kuala Lumpur office (Damansara Perdana).

The contents are basically the same as our English. In this one day seminar, we have more time to share more concrete strategies and tips to start an Internet business from scratch, including:

- B2B marketing, for manufacturers, wholesalers, trading companies, distributors and even agents. Don’t think that you need to be already in this business before doing b2b. We will teach you how to run your own b2b trading company in no time, and capture a piece of the HUGE b2b pie.

- New ways of Internet marketing using YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, Blogs etc, and all of these tools are FREE! Some of the examples we showed have gathered a few million views or clicks to websites just by using these free tools!

Sabah internet marketing seminar event

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

We just had a great internet marketing seminar in Kota Kinabalu last weekend and check out the huge crowd of internet entrepreneurs.

Kota kinabalu internet marketing

Did you miss our internet marketing seminar? Drop us a note here and we’ll keep you posted on the next session we will be organising in Sabah.

Interestingly, we had a pair of husband & wife participants (who have signed up for our English internet marketing coaching session in Sep 2008) , who attended our Kota Kinabalu internet marketing seminar several years ago. After attending our internet seminar, they attempted to hire their own web designer, programmer and seeked help from website consultants but after years of trying and failing, they were still unable to get the Return on Investments (ROI) on their internet business. They finally decided, it was easier to just learn from eOneNet internet marketing coaching that will give them the tips and strategies towards finding more sales online!

website seminar workshop sabah

Are there many opportunities for Sabahans or Sarawakians in Internet Business? Definitely yes! I went shopping at the local markets in Kota Kinabalu and found various products with high potential for running a profitable Internet Business. The profit margins between buying in KK versus the selling price of such items in Kuala Lumpur was already more than 600%!  So imagine if you can get hold of such items and sell them online in US$! We’ll be sharing more real products ideas that you can use to resell online (some of them which can be easily be found in your local Asian shopping scene).

After the Kota Kinabalu seminar, we headed to Sutera Harbour resort for a nice holiday (we’ve already stayed in Nexus Karambunai Hotel, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, and Pacific Sutera Harbour Club floor in previous Sabah holidays) as it was located very near the city centre and the Kota Kinabalu hotel.

Air Supply was singing on Monday night at the Magellan Sutera Harbour and how i wished i could have stayed back to enjoy this world-class performance. I settled with a pampering spa massage in the Mandara Spa Villa and ended up buying 2 big bags of spa merchandise before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.

Work and play while making money at the same time is my Internet life-style!

Who is eOneNet’s Next Million Dollar Student?

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

You may be aware there are many claims from Internet marketers that they can teach you how to be an Internet millionaire. First of all, you will need to check whether they have already made their first million online, and if so, are they making more than one million dollar online  or using online marketing each year consistently? More importantly, have they got any students who have made million of dollars after going through their Internet marketing coaching?

We have shared some success stories of our million dollar students before, who have been consistently making that kind money each and every year. Now we have another latest million dollar story to tell.

He attended eOneNet’s Internet marketing coaching in Oct/Nov 2007. Initially he created a few blogs making only a few hundred dollars. However, he kept on doing the homework diligently and finally came up with a website selling software. Within 2 months, applying the SEO techniques he learned from Fione, his site is ranked No.1 in Google.com, Google.com.cn, Google.com.hk, Yahoo.com, Yahoo.com.cn etc.

He then made US$36,000, even before getting his first order! Now he’s getting customers 100% from the Internet, some of whom are public listing companies. The value of these are US$10,000 - US$50,000 per order.

His name is Christopher Tam. His site is KlantCRM.com, selling CRM software.

Yesterday, he shared his successful experience during the eBusiness Club Meeting in Hong Kong. His success is not by accident. Other than getting a great Internet marketing coach :) he has taken massive action in applying what he learned, and constantly testing different products and marketing strategies.

For some students, it maybe a challenge just to complete one website project in 3 months. For him, he has completed a few wesites and blogs in just a matter of months, each and every one is making money, ranking from a few hundred dollars to a few hundred thousand dollars.

So what is his secrets of success?

“I listened to what Fione taught me, and took action to test out different ideas. Initially some ideas were just making me one or two hundred dollars. But I was not satisfied with this and kept on searching and testing. And I came up with a website that would be going to worth a fortune in one or two years’ time!” said Christopher.

Want to be eOneNet’s next Million dollar student?

Women’s Institue of Management write up on Fione Tan - ecommerce entrepreneur

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Check out the latest issue of magazines in Malaysia for Inspire : The Business Journal of the Women’s Institute of Management June 2008.

Page 46 to 47 features the Women Entrepreneur Fione Tan and shared her tips on how to create a profitable Internet Business, even if you are starting from scratch.

Here are parts of the article

What Women Want

Inspire, June 08

To be financially independent

To pursue their own interests. To have time for themselves and their families. To have quality lives. To be themselves.

If all this sounds too unreal to be achievable, think again. Today, some women have managed to buck the saying “You can’t have your cake and eat it too” and are doing all of the above. Their secret: technology. If the thought of spending lots of time at the computer doesn’t faze you, then an Internet-based business may be right up your street.

“Considering the options, I thought it was an appropriate time to begin a Net-based business, especially because start-up costs were so low.”

SOMETHING TO CALL YOUR OWN

Indeed, many women already own and run businesses, and a Web presence – or at least an e-mail address – has become a commercial prerequisite as high on the must-have list as a mobile number. However, some still shy away from anything to do with Information Technology and could therefore end up being on the losing end.

There are so many pros to having an IT-based business. Netpreneur Fione Tan started hers just before she turned 21, and has never looked back. Studying in the US provided more than an education; exposure to the Internet at university convinced her that IT was the way to go. “Internet use was just picking up in Malaysia back then,” she says. “Considering the options, I thought is was an appropriate time to begin a Net-based business, especially because start-up costs were so low.”

So she registered eOneNet.com, a virtual company first, and then set up physical office in Kuala Lumpur a few months later in April 2000. Perhaps she was a little savvier than others. Her dot-com, eOneNet.com, was positioned from the very start as an Internet marketing company that could help customers improve their online businesses.

Top 5 websites making money online China

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

China has already overtaken the USA as the country with the highest internet users in the world!

The 3 top popular search engines in USA - Google, Yahoo! and MSN, are not ranked within the top 3 sites in China.

Which are the top portals and most popoular search engines in China?

The China web portals listed below according to the generated highest amount of revenues in 2007 include:-

1. Tencent (most popular application is the instant messaging QQ) - US$523.1 million

2. NetEase - US$316.1 million

3. Sina - US$246.1 million

4. Baidu search engine - US$239.1 million

5. Sohu - US$188.9 million

Compare the list above with the current revenues earned by search engines & portals in the USA below:-

1. Google - US$16.6 billion

2. Yahoo! - US$7 billion

3. AOL - US$5.2 billion

4. MSN - US$4 billion

This shows that the current China portals and search engines are still having tremendous opportunities for expansion as most of these China portals are relying on non-advertising based revenues as their main source of income (except for Baidu who is earning 99.8% of its income from online ads).

Have you started selling online to China yet?
