You Don’t Need To Score A To Be A Millionaire!

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

The results of Hong Kong Certificate Exam (equivalent to secondary school graduation exam) was released today. The media’s focus was on those who achieved 10 A or 9A. The youngest one who achieved 9 A is a girl aged 14, which is a Hong Kong record. And there are 10 students who scored 10A.

These students are of course exhilarated, and so are their parents, as this is their ticket to admitting to Form 6. On the other hand, most of those who didn’t score A were disappointed and frustrated.

But do you need to score A, to be a millionaire? Definitely not!

Even a lot of billionaires like the World’s richest person (Bill Gates), or Asia’s richest person (Lee Ka Shing) didn’t even finish school, let alone scoring A!

On the contrary, many of those who scored A would end up working for those who didn’t score A. So even if you scored A, this is not a guarantee for your future success. On the other hand, if you didn’t score A, it doesn’t mean you cannot be more successful.

So what’s the difference between the super successful and the miserable? It’s definitely not due to the score. It’s a matter of goal setting and taking effective and persistent action to work towards achieving your goals.

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will discover some students have become successful Internet entrepreneurs and are making more money than those working in the corporate world. If they can do it, why can’t you?

Hong Kong eBay Sellers Defraud 5 Million Dollars - Buyers Beware!

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

Auction fraud, in particular in eBay, being the biggest auction site, is happening worldwide. Today, Hong Kong eBay fraud made the headline in the news with a group of faked ebay sellers cheating more than 5 million Hong Kong dollars!

The Hong Kong police has arrested 8 people, who were alleged to sell new and limited edition electronic items in eBay, and after receiving payment, never shipped out the goods.

During the last 6 months, they put up items like MP3, memory cards, and DVD players for auction in ebay, and the products were sold at normal price or slightly below the normal price, from a few hundred dollars up to $5,000 per item.

So who would bear the loss? Most probably the buyer!

Wait, but does eBay and Paypal have some buyer protection policy? Yes, they do, but the protection is very limited.

1. eBay doesn’t guarantee the items sold on eBay, as eBay is not the seller. Buyer is soley responsible for checking out the sellers and the product description, including return and refund policy. Even though you may get some sort of protection from eBay, if the product is not as described or never shipped, the claim process would take a long time. Do you have the experience of making similar claims to eBay before?

2. Paypal’s protection is limited to unauthorised transactions, i.e. if the buyer’s card was charged without the buyer’s authority, but it doesn’t protect for cases of non-delivery.

So is there any way to avoid or reduce the risks of fraud?

You are welcome to post any suggestions here. I will make a separate post on “How To Avoid eBay Fraud”. Stay tuned!

Building Your Website in Hong Kong Internet Marketing Coaching - Day 2

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

Day 2 in Hong Kong started with the topic Testing to Improve Response. This is the single most step to increase sales. Here we are talking about generating more sales, not traffic. There is no point in driving more traffic to your website, if the traffic does not convert to SALES.

Hong Kong Internet Marketing Coaching

I shared one of my testing campaigns for sending emails to get participants for our Internet marketing seminars. Campaign A got 400% more response than campaign B! Without testing, we could have lost 400% sales!

Hong Kong Internet Marketing Coaching

The participants are building their website live, during the next session, using eOneNet’s search engines friendly DIY Site Builder . Some of the previous participants’ websites using this Site Builder include http://www.asianmeals.com/, http://www.8giftideas.com/ , http://www.1specialjewelry.com/. Before the end of this session, all the participants have built a website already, and even picked up basic HTML skills!

As shared by one of our successful students, Alice, of http://www.1maidhk.com/ yesterday, the key to success is RESEARCH. We shared the top online tools and websites you MUST use in order to target the right keywords, the hot products and market. You may know some of these tools, but the key is how to use these tools and data properly in order to hit the right products.

The highlight of the day is the application of these two days’ training with an Internet business project contest. Different teams came up with interesting ideas supported by stats to prove the market demand.

Who says it’s difficult to find hot products to sell online?

1st CEF Hong Kong Internet Marketing Coaching Reveals Make Money Online Secrets

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

LATEST UPDATE: eOneNet.com’s CEF Hong Kong Certificate in Practical Internet Marketing webpage now launched! CLICK HERE.

The much awaited Hong Kong CEF approved Internet marketing coaching class commences today, and is now being held at Open University of Hong Kong (which is at the same building as our office here).

Hong Kong Internet Marketing Coaching

To improve the online support and tracking, we have launched a new members’ area for those who joined the class as from today, applicable to Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore. This new support and tracking online system, I believe is the best Internet marketing coaching system in Asia, and probably also world’s best:)

While the support of other so called Internet marketing coaching program is limited to email and forum support, we have comprehensive online system to track each individual participants progress, including submission and marking of assignments online, online Q & A system, online meeting room, and more.

Hong Kong Internet Marketing Coaching

Unlike most other Internet marketers who can teach you to sell ebooks or information only (because of their limited experience), we have ample successful experience of selling physical products online, including B2C and B2B. In fact, the bulk of eCommerce transactions are for selling physical products, not information. If you are interested to make real money and bigger dollar amount, you should sell physical products. So you would have to learn from those who know.

So the course commences with the first topic - Finding and Sourcing for Hot Products To Sell Online.

Step 1: Fione shares how to research for hot selling products using free online tools, and how to target suitable keywords. For example, if you want to do slimming or weight loss, it would make a big difference if you use the keyword “slimming” instead of “weight loss”.

Step 2: Source for manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, and dropshippers, and the top sourcing websites you must use.

Some of our successful students shared their experience in starting their Internet business, including Ryan Li, who is selling crystals online. He shared how he sourced for his products and the tips in dealing with suppliers. I was very impressed when he showed me his Chinese blog which attracted more than 10,000 visitors, in less than 3 months, just because he got top 2 rankings for a popular Chinese keyword in Yahoo.com.hk.

Jack, student of the first batch in Hong Kong last May, shared his persistence to complete the website within the first week after the class, and now without doing much work, he’s getting distributors for his products in Germany, Singapore, and other countries and his products are selling like hot cakes at http://www.8giftidea.com/

Alice, who has completed two websites within 6 months after the class, shared her detailed research and the improvement of her website traffic, after launching a blog. Her site is now getting orders from Bahamas, Spain, Singapore and other countries, even for services, at http://www.1maidhk.com/. She also shared the research tools she is using to locate niche markets.

Success breeds success. What better than learning from real Asian making real money online?

1st CEF Hong Kong Internet Marketing Course FULL HOUSE

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

LASTEST UPDATE: eOneNet.com’s CEF Hong Kong Certificate in Practical Internet Marketing webpage now launched. CLICK HERE!

The 1st Hong Kong CEF approved Internet Marketing Coaching Program to start on 21 July is now FULL HOUSE. In fact, I just noted that it’s over-booked and we don’t have enough computers in the lab that we’ve booked.

Don’t worry, we have anticipated an overwhelming response and have reserved another lab in Open University which has more computers.

However, we are NOT accepting any more registrations for the 1st batch. If you want to grab the opportunity to kick-start your Internet business successfully, like the other successful stories we are sharing in this blog, you would need to register for the 2nd class to commence on 6 October.

If you are not serious enough, you can come up with any reason or excuse to delay starting your Internet business. The difference between the super successful and the miserable, is the ability to take effective action, NOW! And now with the sponsorship of up to HK$10,000 by CEF, can you still afford to wait?

祝香港回歸十周年 - 繼續繁榮安定!

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

Yumiko Video Becomes A Smashing Hit, Again!

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Posted by Harrace

Yumiko Cheng Hei Yi (鄭希怡), an upcoming Hong Kong singer, grabbed the headline in local newspapers and magazines again, just 6 months after her T-back video became a smashing hit in YouTube. This round, her video was also due to wardrobe malfunction, while she was performing in a show in Toronto.

In the last video, it was the lower part of the body, and in the latest video which was uploaded to YouTube a few days ago, it was the upper part of her body. Within 3 days, the video got more than 500,000 views!

How can this happen? I mean getting half a million views for a video within 3 days. This is an excellent example of viral marketing. Someone watched the show on TV, taped the video and then uploaded it to YouTube. Those who have watched the show then spread the news to their friends, who in turn spread the news to their friends, via forums, blogs etc, and this goes on and on. For those who haven’t watched the show, they would search for ”Yumiko video“ in YouTube.

This is why YouTube has become so popular and can be utilized as a platform to spread your advertising and promotion message. We have been practising this for quite a while and have uploaded more than 100 videos to YouTube and Google Video.

I just did a search for “eOneNet‘ in Google video, and the search results show 177 listings, including videos from our media interviews, testimonials from our customers, seminar highlights etc.

How can you also use video to promote your site and get more traffic?
