What’s in Common Between Zhang Ziyi and Fione Tan?

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

Zhang Ziyi (章子怡),  one of most famous China film actresses who has made her fame to the Hollywood, needs no introduction here. What does she have in common with our Fione Tan, who has nothing to do with acting or filming?

Both of them are featured in this month’s Icon Magazine (風華), the leading Chinese luxury magazine in Malaysia and Singapore (equivalent to the English Tatler). Whether you like her or not, Ziyi is definitely one of the most famous China actresses known internationally. The 7 page interview reflects her personality, growth, and success story.

Fione’s interview, under Icon Feature, is one of the five selected outstanding Malaysia young CEOs who has made a household name in their respective industries.

Fione is wearing the Emilio Pucci multi-colour paillette dress from the Fall/Winter 2007 collection. This sequinned dress is rumoured to cost over RM11,000 (about HK$23,000)

Grab a copy at the magazine stand today!

For the benefits of those who are not able to get hold of the magazine in Malaysia, we’ve just uploaded this piece to our press room at http://www.eonenet.com/press/press.htm for your reading pleasure!

Top Internet Marketing Coach Reviews Best Airport Business Lounges

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Posted by Fione, Head Internet Marketing Coach

I am now writing this post from Bali!

I’ve been hired to conduct private internet marketing training & workshop for an event organised by Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesia and the group of participants consists of professionals from more than 10 countries.

On 29 July (Sunday), I took the early morning flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Denpasar, Bali island of Indonesia. It was the flight MH715 and departs at 9.50am. Each day, there are 2 flights operated by Malaysia Airlines. I was taking the Business Class flight and the price was about RM3,600 with the airport taxes for this flight sector (of course, this was paid for by the organizer of the event). The economy class flight ticket was about RM1,800 due to the holiday season, so if at a non-peak season the air ticket price will be cheaper. I was late for the KL Sentral in-town check-in (you need to be there before 2 hours of your departure time) so I had to drag my luggage to the airport. There, I realised that the priority counters for business class was slow, where I waited for at least 15 minutes.

I went through the immigration and then headed to the Malaysia Airlines lounge. Breakfast was served till 11am so I ate prawn kuey teow soup noodle and ordered an orange ice blended drink.

Magazines, newspapers were aplenty and the comfy cushions could easily enable you to doze off. If the soup or porridge were not your choice, you can help yourselves to the Malaysia (nasi lemak, sambal, chicken rending), or the Western (chicken croissant sandwiches, baked beans, eggs & toasts) style spread of light snacks.

One thing very different that you won’t find in other airport lounges is that for Malaysia Airlines you can find the “kaya” jam spread! I should try to toast the bread and make my very own “roti bakar” next time. Cutleries used in the Malaysia Airlines lounge in KLIA was the Wedgewood brand (which you can see the W sign when you flip the plate / saucer over)

How does this compare with all the other business class lounges? The national carrier business class lounge are having the best facilities when the lounge is in their own country. Some of the business class lounges I’ve been to include:-

  1. Kuala Lumpur International Airport Cathay Pacific lounge
  2. Kuala Lumpur International Airport Emirates lounge
  3. Bangkok Airport Thai Airways lounge
  4. Hong Kong Cathay Pacific The Wing lounge (they have got 2 lounges, the other called The Pier which I always seemed to miss out),
  5. Dubai, UAE Emirates Lounge
  6. Lahore, Pakistan Cathay Pacific Lounge
  7. Tehran, Iran Emirates Lounge

Which one I felt was the best? I like the Dubai Emirates Lounge in its airport and probably because I had a nice refreshing shower during my travel there, and also its decor and good food!

If you are taking business class and plan to visit the lounge, do make sure that you have at least 1 hour to spare prior to the departure time and then you will have time to enjoy the visit there. I’ve missed out many too eg like the Taipei Airport Malaysia Airlines lounge, and more.

Hong Kong Fireworks video on July 1, 2007

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

Posted by Fione Tan, Head Internet Marketing Coach

I’ve just recorded the live fireworks display of the Hong Kong celebration of 10 years anniversary of the handover on July 1, 2007. The video was captured tonight from the 59th floor, of The Arch, Kowloon, which happened to be the swimming pool floor.

You can also watch the Hong Kong fireworks video here:-

Apart from the fireworks display that were blasted from ships in the sea, there were also many shots of fireworks from commercial buildings from Central & WanChai. The fireworks can be clearly seen alongside the Hong Kong night view of the Victoria Harbour.

Fione Tan Helped Raised RM36,000 in MasteryAsia’s Charity Conference

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Posted by Harrace

Owing to our busy schedule, Fione and I are back to work, right after our wedding. Our honeymoon needs to be postponed :)

Last Sunday, Fione spoke for the first time after the wedding, in a charity conference organised by MasteryAsia, in front of a crowd of more than 200 people, including graduates of Money Mastery. Fione and I are both graduates too, from MM799 - it’s July, 1999, when we first met :)

All proceeds of the conference would go to the Children’s Cancer Fund for the Malaysian Paediatric Association.

Fione Tan on stage

Fione’s was the second speaker to present, with the topic “From Executive to Internet Entrepreneur”. She shared passionately how and why she quit her first job as an Insurance executive to start her own Internet company.

Here is a video clip of her sharing.

She went on to talk about the Internet life-style, being able to wake up anytime you want, travel to any places on earth, while still making money.

She shared one of her secrets of success - goal setting. The first time she took this matter seriously was when she was being interviewed by the press when she first started 7 year ago and was asked when she would expect to make the first million Ringgit. (more…)

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Posted by Harrace

We’ve been so busy after the wedding, but being the top Internet marketing coach, Fione still got time to update the wedding blog at 9Weddings.com and have been uploading some of the wedding videos.

One of the unique experience of our wedding is that guests were requested to make a wedding wishes video, instead of the usual signing for attendance. All these videos are being uploaded to our blogs for sharing.

Our wedding wishes video recording include friends such as:-
* Chan Wing Kei Francis, a Hong Kong solicitor, and partner of OR, NG & CHAN, with Lo Nim Chee, Connie, the author of the Hong Kong Chinese Best seller book entitled “Living a new life, as a Cancer Survivor”,where the proceeds of its sale will go to the Children Cancer Fund of Hong Kong
* Paul Shieh, Senior Counsel, barrister, and her wife Teresa Tse, who explains why my nickname is called “Class Monitor”.

For more wedding videos, go to our wedding blog at 9Weddings.com!
