Women’s Institue of Management write up on Fione Tan - ecommerce entrepreneur

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Check out the latest issue of magazines in Malaysia for Inspire : The Business Journal of the Women’s Institute of Management June 2008.

Page 46 to 47 features the Women Entrepreneur Fione Tan and shared her tips on how to create a profitable Internet Business, even if you are starting from scratch.

Here are parts of the article

What Women Want

Inspire, June 08

To be financially independent

To pursue their own interests. To have time for themselves and their families. To have quality lives. To be themselves.

If all this sounds too unreal to be achievable, think again. Today, some women have managed to buck the saying “You can’t have your cake and eat it too” and are doing all of the above. Their secret: technology. If the thought of spending lots of time at the computer doesn’t faze you, then an Internet-based business may be right up your street.

“Considering the options, I thought it was an appropriate time to begin a Net-based business, especially because start-up costs were so low.”

Asian women in business

SOMETHING TO CALL YOUR OWN

Indeed, many women already own and run businesses, and a Web presence – or at least an e-mail address – has become a commercial prerequisite as high on the must-have list as a mobile number. However, some still shy away from anything to do with Information Technology and could therefore end up being on the losing end.

There are so many pros to having an IT-based business. Netpreneur Fione Tan started hers just before she turned 21, and has never looked back. Studying in the US provided more than an education; exposure to the Internet at university convinced her that IT was the way to go. “Internet use was just picking up in Malaysia back then,” she says. “Considering the options, I thought is was an appropriate time to begin a Net-based business, especially because start-up costs were so low.”

So she registered eOneNet.com, a virtual company first, and then set up physical office in Kuala Lumpur a few months later in April 2000. Perhaps she was a little savvier than others. Her dot-com, eOneNet.com, was positioned from the very start as an Internet marketing company that could help customers improve their online businesses.

Malaysians can now join Clickbank to promote & sell ebooks

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan - Head Internet Marketing Coach

Clickbank is the most popular ebooks (digital books) website and the good news is that Malaysia has been added to their list of approved sellers and affliates. Earlier, many Malaysians were eager to join Clickbank to choose ebooks to promote on their website and then, earn affiliate commissions, but were disappointed to find out that Malaysia was not on the list of approved countries.

Therefore, the new changes in Clickbank will make many Malaysian bloggers happy and excited.

For those that are new towards ebooks selling, here are some points about Clickbank that you will find useful.

For entrepreneurs who wants to make money online by selling OWN ebooks (if you are an author wishing to promote your own digital book), you can list your ebook for sale on Clickbank.

- for a one-time setup fee of US$49.95 after your first product is approved and accepted by Clickbank for being listed in their website. There is no monthly charge, but for every check that ClickBank issues to you, do take note of the US$2.50 processing fee.

- over 10,000 sellers (known as Publishers) are now selling their digital products in Clickbank

- you can also sell subscriptions, memberships and digital info on recurring billing such as monthly fee, and not just the typical one off selling price.

How much will you receive back from Clickbank?

Clickbank transacts with you based on the Retail Price and Wholesale price. Normally, ClickBank purchases the product from the publisher at a wholesale price at 92.5% of your retail price, less a $1 stocking charge (even though it’s a digital product).

- let’s say your selling / retail price is US$50, so the fee that clickbank pays back to you if there is a sale, will be US$45.25

One of the best feature that you can use if selling your products on Clickbank is starting the affiliate program using their clickbank system. With over 100,000 affiliates in the Clickbank network, you are assured that you can get many resellers / marketers for your ebooks here.

To find out more info on how you can start selling on Clickbank, read the information on the Clickbank - Sell Products page.

Internet Marketing Coach Reveals - How To Guarantee You Can Make Money Online

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

A commonly asked question by would-be Internet newbies before they can decide to join eOneNet’s Internet Marketing Coaching program is : What is the success rate?

Another one is : Can you guarantee I can make money?

For those who have attended the program, they know we have revealed how to research for a hot target market / topic, and then how to use 5 or 6 different ways to make money from this, whether selling products, services, ebooks or other stuffs.

Let me put it this way, if they apply what they learned and do their homework, it’s IMPOSSIBLE not to make money online. How much they make individually depends on what they sell or do, and the effort they put in, which may range from a few hundreds dollars to even more than ONE MILLION DOLLARS (as some of eOneNet’s students from Malaysia and Hong Kong have achieved).

Let’s also hear what some of the participants in the Malaysia Internet Marketing Coaching have learned in this weekend in KL.

Sulistiana Mediati, Medical Practitioner

Melissa Lee, owner of a hotel and travel agency

Yong Kok Cheng, senior Motivation Trainer

Mohd. Azharuddin Osman, Captain

Heah Sook Mee, Suumey, Johor Bahru

SO CAN YOU MAKE MONEY ONLINE?

Internet Marketing Coach Fione Tan Reveals Blogging Secrets

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

The No.1 Internet marketing coaching program is now taking place right now in Malaysia, at eOneNet Centre in KL!

Some of the lucky participants managed to grab the last seats for this coaching class just today!

The coaching starts with a blogging workshop this evening, which is a must-attend workshop for blog beginners. Fione reveals how to open blogs in a step-by-step manner, including using two of the most popular blogging platforms.

For the more savvy bloggers, they have no problems in following this. However, for the complete newbies, they need to have this hands-on session so that they can be guided as to how and what to click.

Before the end of the workshop, each participant has successfully opened one blog, posted at least two articles, and even uploaded videos, add links, feeds, and even submit to blog search engines!

Most importantly, they have already added ads into their blog and would start making money within the next few days. As a matter of fact, one of the participants told me that  after attending our last blog seminar, she has already started a blog and earned some income by following our advice!

That’s why we can guarantee you to make money online, if you can just apply what you learn from us and take action as per our instructions!

Happy blogging!

JB Internet Marketing - eOneNet seminars in Johor Bahru

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

Both Harrace and I have just returned from a weekend trip to Johor, the southern state in Peninsula Malaysia. We were at The Zon Hotel for the JB internet marketing seminars, and luckily we had lots of help from my coaching students, Ruey Mond and Alex.

Here are some of the seminar photos from our Johor internet marketing training programs last week.

Apart from our internet marketing coaching students, our internet marketing consultant partners, Teck Beng & CP from Singapore also came over to assist in the event. During the internet training session, new internet marketing students were also to network with other existing eOneNet coaching students to further exchange ideas on how to apply their new making money online techniques.

In between the several days of internet training, we still had time to hang around in the Duty Free Zone shopping mall, got a nice hair & scalp treatment, and had late suppers with our new internet entrepreneurs. We look forward to coming back to Johor in our next round of Malaysia internet marketing seminars. New dates will be posted on http://www.eOneNet.com/system_register.htm

Learning how to develop your Branding Strategy - Online branding ideas

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Posted by Fione Tan, head Internet Marketing Coach

What is branding? Does your company have a brand strategy? During the Malaysia Branding & Marketing Forum 2008, I was invited as a speaker on Digital Branding topic, on how to use the Internet to enhance your online brand. Participants of the event came from different industries and multinationals corporations. Apart from Case studies of digital marketing were shared, everyone agreed that Online Branding is undeniably one of the most important part of your Branding Strategy.

Branding is the “image” you convey to others. This means how your company or product / service is perceived. It’s an extension of your Corporate Marketing plan, and can be based on your company or product’s Unique Selling Point (USP).

Branding is not just advertising, so this is the intangible characteristic of your company and allows you to charge a price premium over your competitors. In the event the brand’s overall image does not sync, then this conflict will jeopardise your brand strategy. Make sure that the message is Consistent.

If your market is only local like Malaysia, then you can find a branding consultant in Malaysia, but if you are looking at expanding internationally, then you can attempt to find a global brand consultancy firm or by region such as brand consultant Asia.

Here are some important points about Branding:-

- logo is NOT the brand

- branding is not just advertising

There are 7Ps in the Branding strategy context including:-

1. Brand Positioning - what are the core values

2. Perceptual mapping (what competitive advantage is offered, who are the competitors and how they stand)

3. Promotion

4. Place (not just your physical location, but also matching your overall image with your blog and website)

5. People (the behaviour of your staff is also an extension of your brand, so ensure that the expectations are met)

6. Process

7. Physical evidence (the way that you dress., the overall outlook of the company’s interior, etc)

Additionally, understand who is your target audience, and what does your company want to be an expert in?

Your positioning statement, tagline, slogan and logo should be matching the entire branding strategy. One of the popular airlines company in Malaysia (and now Asia), is the slogan of the budget airlines, AirAsia. Their slogan is “Now, everyone can fly” and since they introduced very low cost air tickets, that slogan matches their company’s positioning.

Now, can you recall the tagline of these airline companies? Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific? No wonder AirAsia is one of the most successful branding case study in Asia.

互聯網行銷教練揭發網上創業祕技

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

作者: Harrace, 資深網上行銷教練

這個周末在eOneNet馬來西亞公司聚集一批來自大馬與新加坡的網絡企業家, 參加eOneNet亞洲首創的中文網上創業行銷實戰課程。
