Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Posted by Harrace, Senior Internet Marketing Coach

Zhang Ziyi (章子怡),  one of most famous China film actresses who has made her fame to the Hollywood, needs no introduction here. What does she have in common with our Fione Tan, who has nothing to do with acting or filming?

Both of them are featured in this month’s Icon Magazine (風華), the leading Chinese luxury magazine in Malaysia and Singapore (equivalent to the English Tatler). Whether you like her or not, Ziyi is definitely one of the most famous China actresses known internationally. The 7 page interview reflects her personality, growth, and success story.

Fione’s interview, under Icon Feature, is one of the five selected outstanding Malaysia young CEOs who has made a household name in their respective industries.

Fione is wearing the Emilio Pucci multi-colour paillette dress from the Fall/Winter 2007 collection. This sequinned dress is rumoured to cost over RM11,000 (about HK$23,000)

Start Your Business Event in Hong Kong 創業動力2007

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

500 seats, 700 tickets given away. As expected, the “Start Your Business 2007″ organised by Hong Kong Metro Radio yesterday, was a full house success!

Here are some photos:

Part 1 of the event started with two entrepreneurs, who shared their success stories of starting their own businesses with interest free loan granted by the government! I didn’t know the Hong Kong Government is so good to support entrepreneurs by lending them money until hearing their sharing.

Other speakers introduced their franchises, including one education / tuition centre “補習社” franchise, which costs about HK$250,000, inclusive of franchise fee of about HK$50,000, and the costs of rental and decoration of the premises. This is now a big business in Hong Kong, worth billions of dollars annually. However, this is a highly competitive business, with a lot of big players, splashing full page ads in newsapapers, and 30 feet billboards across business districts.

Another speaker introduced a new franchise for high end property, from Germany. It costs about HK$270,000, including HK$70,000 for sending the franchisee to Germany for training. The main issue an interested franchisee needs to assess is facing stiff competiton from established property agents companies, who already have wide networks of branches and thousands of trained and licensed property agents in Hong Kong.

Another speaker introduced a beauty franchise for a small set-up. She gave an example of a new shop set up in Causeway, which costs about HK$450,000, inclusive of rental, decoration and necessary beauty equipment. Again, the franchisees would have to face immense competition. However, the good thing about this is that you don’t have to start from scratch and can leverage on the successful experience of the franchisor.

Fione, the only speaker who discussed Internet business, received the best response. When she announced that thousands of students in Hong Kong have attended her seminars, she smartly asked how many in the audience have attended her seminars, more than 20 hands were raised! This surprised the MC and the speakers on stage.

When compared to other forms of traditional businesses and franchises, Internet business presents the lowest form of risk. You don’t need to have half a million dollar in your bank account, or to borrow money from others to start an Internet business. Fione shared you don’t even have to buy stocks before you can sell online. One option is to get paid first by your customer, and then buys the product from your supplier with wholesale price, and makes a profit.

I am now uploading Fione’s video and will post it here soon. Stay tuned!

eOneNet Internet Marketing Millionaires featured in The Star newspaper

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Posted by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

Our successful website entrepreneurs from our advanced internet marketing coaching program have been featured in The Star newspaper today, Aug 14, 2007. Here are the details of the story called “Success Story

Success Story

Can a normal person really make money online? Do you need to be a technical whiz or become a proven brand before you can attempt to sell on the Internet?

Let’s take a look at the current internet situation. The largest region with Internet users is now Asia, with internet users listed at 399 million as of March 2007 (source : Nielsen NetRatings), followed by Europe then America.

The trend for online shopping is topping all time highs and there will be even more transactions in the years to come.

Here are some internet marketing tips by Fione Tan, head Internet Marketing Coach of eOneNet.com

What is Internet Marketing or Internet Business?

Doing business on the Internet is similar to doing business offline. Transactions are made when the seller can provide a value to the buyer. This is not just limited to selling digital products like ebooks or softwares, but it also encompasses trading of products and services.

Through the various internet marketing training & website coaching, many have become multi-millionaires via the Internet.

Here are some success stories and how it came about.

Ryan Li, became a full- time internet business entrepreneurs in just a couple of months. He attended the US$2,400+ Internet Marketing Coaching, with no ideas and no products. So, how did he turn things around?

The first thing we discussed in our coaching program was how to find hot-selling products. We decided to sell crystals (www.18Crystals.com)

Initially he wanted to target the local Chinese market in Hong Kong only, but was later surprised that foreigners were buying his products. Now he has started looking into B2B (business to business) wholesale exports to France! Recently, his online crystal business store also won the acclaimed Yahoo Top Seller Award in Hong Kong. (Note by Fione, you can view his video in Chinese about how he started the internet business at Here. )

For business owners and companies, I will share the story of Ruby Chan. While she was pregnant, she wanted to learn how to do internet marketing to help in her husband’s business. She purchased the eOneNet Internet Marketing Home Study DVD ( details on www.InternetMarketingCoaching.com ) and studied at home while utilising our online coaching tools.

She later created www.Glass-Expert.com and sales has been over HK$450,000 since starting the coaching with eOneNet in 2006. She predicts she will be hitting One Million Dollar in sales in 2007!

(note by Fione, if you want to see Ruby share her journey on how she managed to overcome the obstacles on the Internet, view her video here at our internet marketing blog where she points out ideas that contributed to her success.)

How I made my first million? Cover story on Malaysian Today newspaper

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Posted by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

Last weekend, i received a sms from a friend congratulating me for appearing on the front cover of the Malaysian Today newspaper. I was surprised that the interview was already out and rushed to grab a copy, but didn’t expect to be placed on the front cover of the newspaper.

Malaysian Today cover girl - Fione Tan Internet Millionaire

Here is the cover story write up.

She put all her “loves” together, started her business, and is now loving every minute of her life.

She loves shopping. She wanted a job that earned her money even when she wasn’t working. She is always on the Net.

These things became motivation for 29-year-old Fione Tan to start a business and reach for the skies.

At 22, she started her Internet company. It is currently the number one Internet marketing coaching company in the world. Google is testimony to this. Just type Internet marketing coaching and the search engine will show Fione Tan’s name right up there.

Tan also has several innovative IT products she retails online.

On setting up her business, the Jinjang-born US graduate told herself she’d get a million ringgit in five years. But barely two years down the line, she had already achieved that dream.

“Since then I’ve been getting more every month,” she chirps gleefully.

Naturally, this has helped her indulge in her shopping activities.

“I just love to shop. A day before my recent wedding in Hong Kong, I was still shopping around for clothes. And I was in town until 10pm and bought about six gowns.”

But being young and very rich has its drawbacks. People don’t treat you seriously, especially when you are about to buy something very expensive.

“When I walked into automobile showroom and looked around, no sales person bothered to entertain me. And when one finally came my way, and I asked him how much a particular BMW model – the latest of its kind – cost, he gave me this incredible look that seemed to say: “You must be kidding me! Why are you wasting my time?”

“Then I took out my cheque book and the look on his face was priceless.”

Tan admits that it’s nice having a business and doing what she’s always wanted to do; what she’s really passionate about.

“… but it’s even better when you find money being banked into your account while you’re on a holiday.”

When it happened the first time, the amount was US$6,000. Needless to say, it launched her onto cloud nine. Tan’s gotten used to this occurrence since.

Tan started her business with a friend. Together they made the CEO – which was she – and the chief consultant of the company.

As they didn’t have enough money to get the company going, they found some shareholders who gave them US$26,000 based on their “simple proposal on four sheets of black and white A-4 size paper.
