1 instant internet marketing strategy to increase your Website Visitors

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

The more visitors you have for your website, you will earn higher sales and profits. If you are now having 1,000 customers, and sold 20 customers, your conversion rate is 2%. Therefore if you now have 5,000 customers, your customers should be 100 customers if based on the same 2% conversion rate.

Alternatively, you can aim to increase your conversion rate. The same 1,000 customers, how can you increase the 20 customers into 40 customers?

a. Run a sale such as Black Friday sale, Cyber Monday sale, Thanksgiving sale or Christmas sale

b. Amend your current webpage contents – e.g. more USP for your products, better description of your products’ benefits, bigger Buy Now button

One of the methods that you can apply immediately to your website is to use common MISSPELLINGS in your webpage contents, and when the customer accidentally types this wrong spelling in Google, or Yahoo!, your website wil appear. A good example, when i was browsing popular searched electronics items in China using their No.1 search engine, Baidu, can you guess what were on the list?

Yes, popular Apple items such as :-

a. Apple iPad

b. Apple iPod

c. Apple iPhone4

and among the most interesting, was the Apple Ipad Touch ! Yes, a common misspelling, which should actually be Apple Ipod Touch.

Therefore, check your products information and then list out probable common misspelt keywords for inserting into your website contents!

How to open an Online Store? 5 Tips to Start Your Web Store

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Posted by Internet Marketing Coach, Fione Tan

Want to open an online store? Thinking if you should rent a store online to sell your merchandise? Here are some tips:-

1. Find popular online shopping malls that rents online stores eg Yahoo stores or eBay stores

- certain shopping malls require you to meet certain profiles before you are allowed to open a store online eg to open an eBay store, you need to have a ebay id that either have 20 Feedbacks or ID Verify

- your ebay account must also have a credit card in file, with a verified paypal account. To get a paypal account, you can register for a Premier or Business account here

Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

2. Compare the online store rates

- not just looking the store rental rates, but also is there additional charges per product placed in the store?

- online shopping malls might also take a chunk of your selling price income, therefore your sales transactions will also be subjected to a percentage or flat fee rate for each item sold via that online store

3. Check out the competition for various products in the shopping mall

- if there are 10,000 stores already selling the similar merchandise you have in your mind, then you can either :-

a) sell another range of of merchandise or products

b) sell complementary range of merchandise (eg if there are 10,000 stores selling Apple Iphones, then you can sell Apple iPhone casing, or Apple iPhone ear phones)

c) go to other online shopping malls of various target locations and rent a store in the location with the least competition

4. Offer Value-Added Services or Products in Your Online Store

- rather than just sell the same items as what others are selling, you can have an edge by UnderPromise, OverDeliver

- Sample : When no one else gives free shipping, you can do so

5. Connect with Your Store Visitors

- the Internet is also one big NETwork of humans that are just making purchasing decisions via their mouse clicks online. If the visitor likes YOU, likes your BRAND, and feel that you are somehow connected, they would rather do business with you

- keep your customers posted on your updates eg like ask them to follow you on Twitter eg Follow us at http://www.Twitter.com/e1Net

- find prospects and customers via social networking sites like Facebook eg Become our Fan at http://www.facebook.com/pages/eOneNetcom/66058467867

Extra Tips : You need to be aware that you will mainly just be a tenant in the online shopping mall, and your online store can be cancelled at any one point, so you REALLY should have your own website with your own .com eg http://www.2Sars.com where you can control your own profit margin (no need to give a slice out to the store portal), and where you are guaranteed that your Google and Yahoo search engine rankings, directly benefits your own brand. Free image hosting for website – storing photos for your website & blog

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Review of free website image tool by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

Free image hosting are one of the most popular topics for web design as well as for blog owners. If you have your own web hosting space, then you can host your images and photos in the same web hosting space as well.

If using free blog softwares or blogging platforms like blogger or wordpress, you can also host your images in their free blog account as well. However, the free image hosting space given is rather limited.

Here we take a look at some of the popular image hosting services available on the Internet.

1. Flickr – owned by Yahoo!

- free version allows you to host unlimited images (in lower quality) and display up to 200 recent photos in this account. There is a limit in the number of images you can upload each month.

- you can upgrade to the Pro Account for US$24.95 per year to store unlimited high resolution images online

- you can see a sample of the paid image hosting upgraded version at http://www.flickr.com/photos/internetmarketing where i can create unlimited sets such as 1 set of images for my travel to korea, another set for internet marketing images and then another set for my shopping best buy items.

2. Photobucket

- allows you to host images / photos as well as videos in one account itself

- sample is like http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg248/eonenet/

How do you proceed to host your images for free? First, go to the websites above and create your free account. In your free account, you can upload the images from your PC/Laptop and then these images can be viewed online.

On the webpage that displays your images, right click the image file and you will find the url of that image. Copy that file name / url and then paste this into your own blog when you are creating the new post.

An alternative method is to directly insert this HTML code into your webpage source code.

<img src=http://fionetan.com/images/award_zdnet2.gif>

Then amend the url above with your correct file name and this image will automatic appear on your website or blog.

Malaysians can now accept Paypal and how to withdraw money locally?

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Posted by Fione Tan, head Internet Marketing Coach

Good news for Malaysians “eCommercers”! Malaysians who wants to sell online, can also accept Paypal for their credit card processing and then this amount of money can now be transferred into your Malaysian credit card.

Some of you may have heard of the news about 1.5 months ago but just in case that you have not been informed, here are some paypal tips. When i was chatting with one of my 2006 coaching participant earlier this afternoon, she was already aware of this news when she called our internet marketing office in Oct, and was informed by my team about this good news. Then reminded me that hey, i’ve not written about this in the blog yet so here is a paypal guide on the ways that you can use paypal to accept payment for your items online, plus how to receive money for the items you sold.

First, what you need to do is to go to Paypal and then register for a Premier (if you wish to accept money using your personal name) or Business Account (if you wish to accept money using your registered company name). The buy now buttons or codes for online shopping is also given by paypal for free for you. All you need to do is to add your item to the paypal buy now or shopping cart and then copy the generated codes to paste into the source code of your website.

Then, how do you really get the money for items you sold? Customers will click on the buy now button and then use their credit card or paypal account to complete that transaction. When the transaction is successful then you will receive an email from paypal stating the name of the payee and the amount paid.

For most countries like Singapore or Hong Kong, all they have to do to withdraw the money is to login into paypal then click the withdraw button and then insert your local bank account information there. The process from the day you ask for this money withdrawal until the day the funds is received in your bank account is 1 week or less.

Is it free to withdraw money from your paypal account? Yes if you have reach the stated standard withdrawal amount in Paypal. For Singapore, you only need to accumulate S$200 or more in your paypal account while for Hong Kong, you need to have HK$1,000 or more in your paypal account. So if you only have S$100 in your paypal account, let’s wait till you reach S$200 before you request for the withdrawal or else you will need to pay a withdrawal fee.

How about Malaysians? We do not withdraw money into our Malaysian bank account. How you do it is to add your Malaysian credit card and then, when you wish to take out the money, you transfer this out to your credit card. How about the currency exchange? If your paypal amount is in US$, then this amount will then be converted back into Malaysian Ringgit based on the daily exchange rate by the bank. Then this amount will show up in your credit card statement.

Do i use paypal to accept money? I use paypal as an altenative payment mode only. eOneNet has got own direct payment gateway with the local bank, so whatever transactions we received, will be in our bank account by the 3rd working day itself plus the transaction fee is lower than those given by 3rd party ecommerce merchant gateways like paypal. I do have paypal and from what i checked just now, i’ve got four figure HK dollar and some US dollars inside the account but i’m unlikely to withdraw these out as i can use this money to pay for products and services which i buy online in US dollars and HK dollars.

So now Malaysians can easily withdraw money from paypal account via their credit cards. The only drawback is the loss in some value due to currency exchange from other currency to RM.

Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

Free live internet seminar in Kuala Lumpur with Fione in Hong Kong!

Monday, November 5th, 2007

Posted by Fione Tan

I just finished the first live internet marketing seminar session in Kuala Lumpur’s Palace of Golden Horses, and the room was fully packed with business owners and internet entrepreneurs. How can i have the training with people in Malaysia while i’m in Hong Kong now?

Yes, using the Internet and a web camera plus headset microphone on my laptop. Have you met your customers using the internet meeting method like this? Here are some of the things that you need to also start your online training.

1. Laptop or PC

2. Microphone and headset (use the microphone to talk to your customers, and use the  headset to hear the message, but if you have the speaker on your computer already then you can just use a microphone)

3. Internet connection (best if broadband)

4. Web camera (if you wish to use a video function to view each other)

5. Online Messaging system such as these free ones below:-

a) Skype

b) MSN Messenger

c) Yahoo Messenger

The other person that you wish to meet online should also have the same type of software installed on their computer. If you are doing a live training on the Internet with a group of people, then on the customers’ end, there should be these extra items :-

- audio cable to link the computer speaker’s audio sound to the room PA system so that the message you deliver can be listened by everyone in the room

-  connect the computer screen to the LCD projector and display on the white screen

The session we had tonight was interesting and passed by faster than expected. Among the items discussed tonight were ideas on how to reduce Google Adwords (pay per click advertisement) spending while increasing its effectiveness. If you paid US$10, and got back US$40 in net income, then it won’t be much of an issue right? But if you had paid US$100, and only made back US$5, then you will definitely be dissatisfied with this online advertising method. The participant named Nor was having 2 websites and faced the problem above so we gave her some free tips on how to increase her advertising ROI (Return on Investment).

Other website marketing issues we talked about included how a consultant can sell consultancy services worldwide, and how can a teacher start an internet business selling ebook.

Online seminars are also called web seminar, or in short “webinars”. We should start a session for free internet marketing webinars soon, would you like to join too?

Common terms about Affiliate Programs

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Posted by Fione Tan, head internet marketing coach

During my coaching discussion with one of my DVD internet marketing home study coaching student, she raised these common questions that you too, might also face when intending to join affiliate programs.

1. What is the meaning of pay per sale and pay per lead?

Pay per sale means you refer sale fo US$100 & if commission is 15% then you earn US$15. Pay per lead is more popular for B2B or the sales cycle that are longer (eg require many follow up etc). Pay per lead eg can be US$2 per form filled or the US$3 per free member recruited

2. What is the meaning of cookies?

Cookie means they track when the customer you refer came back & make the first purchase. You refer Mary but she clicked & didn’t buy today, but came back 3 weeks later so you will still get paid. 1 year means if user come back within 1 year from the day she clicked.

- cookie is a code that is installed into the client’s pc when they visited the merchant’s site. So if user use another pc or clicked on another resellers link or formatted the pc, then the cookie won’t matter anymore

3. What is the meaning of 2 tier affiliate program?

2 tier means if you get a client who buy , then you get the commission. If the person you refer didn’t buy BUT joined the affiliate program then you will also get to override on this affiliate’s sale. This means that whether you refer a sale and refer another affiliate (reseller), you can get to earn the direct commission on sales, or to earn the over-riding commission on what your other referred affiliates are making.

Basically, it is free to join affiliate program, if you are an affiliate but if you want to start this affiliate program & become a merchant then you need to pay.
