zero in on dotcom failures
SunBiz, January 16, 2001
KUALA LUMPUR: Local e-Business portal, eOneNet.com
will be organising a seminar to highlight the danger signals that
lead to dotcom failures from Jan 17 to 18 for professionals and
entrepreneurs keen to start their own dotcom business.
"The seminar titled Losing money, the Dotcom Way , is to educate
the public, especially the business sector on how not to lose
money when doing business on the internet," Fione Tan, CEO and
of eOneNet.com said.
She added that eOneNet.com
has done local and international research on the dotcom scene
and has identified 10 deadly sins that lead to the failure of
these companies. They include spending excessively on advertising
and promotion to create a brand name for themselves and too much
emphasis on technology among others.
Tan said those in the business should attend this seminar as it
not only highlights failures but teaches the public to take heed
of others mistakes. She added that other key topics include tips
and tricks on how to generate traffic to a website and cost and
benefits of going online.
Tan and fellow colleague, Harrace Lau, chief consultant of eOneNet.com
will be the primary speakers.
