eOneNet.com
confident ASP model works
Malaysia.CNET.com, April 24, 2001
KUALA LUMPUR - eOneNet.com Sdn
Bhd has managed to secure more than 100 clients for its in-house
developed Web design software Web Creator 2000 within a year of
its launch, proving the application service provider (ASP) method
of distributing software is working.
"We are happy with the numbers but we hope we will be able
to see better numbers this year after our convention scheduled
to be held in July," said eOneNet.com
chief executive officer Fione Tan.Considering the much talked
about but rather slow to take off ASP model in Malaysia, eOneNet.com
can be commanded for having come this far within a year.
In the Asean region, research firm International Data Corporation
(IDC) considers Malaysia and Singapore to be ahead in the ASP
race as they started deploying the model to counter the economic
crisis.
IDC predicts that the ASP market for the Asia Pacific region excluding
Japan is estimated to be US$541 million in 2004.
eOneNet.com offers two different
packages for Web design and hosting services: Pro Account (five
Web pages) is priced at RMI, 580 per year while the more advanced
Gold Account (1 5 Web pages) is RM3,400 per year. Both packages
entitle clients to various services such as eOneNet.com Cash back
Program, marketing-related programs conducted by eOneNet.com,
submission of site to search engines and one-year maintenance
of the Web site.
Among its current clients are Bankers Club KL, TechnoCorporate
Sdn Bhd, and Hiasan Rezeki Sdn Bhd. Tan said the eOneNet.com convention
will be attracting 300 local and regional participants. The conference
will focus on guiding small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES)
on how to promote their Web sites and lnternet businesses.
"Many SMEs are now well aware of the importance of going
on the Net, But many of them are still do not know how to effectively
promote their site. This is where we can help," she said
after the launching of Suweit.com,
a beauty portal here Thursday.
The beauty portal is a joint venture on a revenue sharing basis
between eOneNet.com and Miss Malaysia / World 2000 Tan
Su Wei.
"Other than having Tan (Su Wei)'s profile and portfolio on
the portal, we will build a community of health and beauty conscious
people through offering online tips, forum, as well as organising
offline health and beauty related events. Also in the pipeline
will be Web casts of fashion shows and events on the portal,"
Tan said.
