Apart from uploading photos of your wedding or engagement to the Internet, you can also put in interactive slide shows with animation.

One of the best method is to upload your photos to the free slide show website like slide.com

Check out the sample above which i took after my Bali Holidays in Indonesia in June 2008. Here is just the 1st slide show and i’ve got over several hundred of photos taken during this 1st year anniversary holiday, so i’ll be creating additional slide shows.

You can even add in the music to play when your slide is being viewed. Isn’t this cool?

Romantic Holiday in Bali Island

We took time off for a romantic holiday to Bali Islands, as part of our first wedding anniversary celebrations. This is a memorable experience for both of us and it was our first time going to this island as husband and wife.

Day One : Shopping in Kuta Town

Day 1 started at the Hard Rock Hotel, just in the middle of Kuta town centre and facing the beach. Flying in from Kuala Lumpur, our Malaysia Airlines flight arrived in the afternoon and we took a cab to the hotel. We decided to use the money exchange downtown in Kuta as I found those rates better than what we could get in the airport. Be sure to hop around different money changers (some are just changing $ in their retail outlet), and you will find even up to 10% difference in the rate.

We had lunch in a local restaurant in Kuta centre ordering shrimp spaghetti in olive oil, shrimp crackers (keropok udang), and seafood tom yam soup (tom yam kuung), with his drinking ice lemongrass with honey tea, while I went with a fresh mixed fruit juice. Harrace made full use of his laptop by checking his email in the Coffee Bean Tea Leaf café while I sipped on the fruity ice-blended Malibu Dream drink.

The whole afternoon was just spent shopping on the main street and you’ll be amazed on how much genuine “fake” brands were around – Versace, Gucci or Calvin Klein. Therefore we ended up not buying much that day, but only local Balinese jewelry made of sea shells and silver jewelry.

Last night before we slept, we started looking back at our relationship in 1999, and how we got started dating. Then, we started to think about the first gift we presented to each other during our courtship. The 1st flower Harrace gave to me was right after a motivation seminar that i attended, so on graduation night, he stood there with my parents and a bouquet of roses. As i was very emotional after the seminar, it felt so good to have someone to hug and i was totally surprised with the gift. Then in the car, he presented me with a 2nd gift, which was an evening bag in silver colour.

How do you choose a gift for your girlfriend or wife?
1. Does brand matter?
- well it’s extra advantage of course, only if you can afford it. No point breaking the bank just to satisfy a girl and then end up being broke for 3 months.
- for beginners there are many USA affordable brands like Guess? and then later on, you can move on to present her French or Italian brands like Gucci, Prada or Louis Vuitton.

2. What are popular items suitable for women?
- this depends on the age group and the style of your girl. Buy something that will match her identity or image.

Here are some ideas on what you can purchase:-
a. Cosmetics items such as lipstick, lip gloss, eye shadow, or fun make up kits (especially during Christmas season, you have a wide selection of make up kits that are suitable for parties at night)
- for women that enjoy playing around with make up, popular brands include MAC, Shu Uemera, and Stila.
- for women that are sophisticated and prefer natural make up, the popular cosmetics brands include Lancome and Estee Lauder or Shiseido.

b. Fragranced products such as Perfumes, Body Lotion, Body Shower and Massage Oil.
- check out what type of perfume she already owns to make sure that you do not end up buying something that she already has
- bring her to the fragrance counters to see what scent she prefers eg is it fruity, or strong
- EDT = eau de toilette
- EDP = eau de parfum (this will be more long lasting and therefore more expensive)
- good choice includes perfume sets or fragrance coffret sets which comes with the perfume and the body lotion or shower gel too

c. Jewelry ranges from affordable ranges like Folie Folie Italian 925 sterling silver, Swarovski crystal jewelries, up to the more luxury brand of jewelry from Tiffany
- avoid buying genuine gold jewelry unless you know that your partner actually likes to wear gold jewelry
- simple platinum or white gold chain with pendant, bracelets or earrings with semi precious stones like topaz, or citrine are good choices too

I can still remember Harrace presented me with a Chanel lipstick during our first week of courtship and i was so happy as it was my first time to own a Chanel range cosmetic. The only thing that went wrong was that the lipstick colour was not something that i would normally have chosen, (so check what lipstick colour she normally wears, eg it is bright red, ruby, peach, or nude tones that she wears usually).

FREE Stila gift with purchase over $25 USD & Free Worldwide Shipping!Choice of products and colors (new customers, while supplies last).

Of course, the longer you’ve been together, you will be more likely to know your partner’s taste. The recent items he purchased for me in April? Two Louis Vuitton bags, including a luggage bag (as i’m always rushing to the airport every fortnightly), and a Sony Ericsson brand new W960i mobile phone.

In the next posting, i’ll share tips with ladies out there on what gifts are great for your boyfriend or husband.

Love is not blind - it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less

Have you been on holiday with your husband or wife lately? It’s always good to get away from work, and get a great holiday for two. Since getting married in June 2007, both of us have travelled on several romantic trips, such as spa holiday to Tokyo, Japan in October 2007 and then during Christmas 2007, we headed to Korea for ski holiday.

It was my first time skiing (even though i looked very comfortable) so i appreciated the skiing lessons provided by my Korean Ski Coach. Here is a photo of both of us at Gangchon Ski Resort in Korea.

Fione & Harrace skiing in Korea

Harrace has skiied in the USA many years ago so he decided to go for a more challenging scope. And as usual, we had so much fun laughing when he fell down, but he stood up fast again and continue to ski.

As for me, i couldn’t even stand still so i was basically skiing backwards, sidewards and boy, were we tired at the end of the ski session. You can check out this url http://flickr.com/photos/internetmarketing/sets/72157603919901295/ for more Korea holiday photos.

What is good about skiing?
- learn a new sports together
- great exercise and one of best way to burn fat
- laugh about your spouse when they fall down
- ski resort is fun in the day, and romantic at night
- cool weather so you can hug your loved one tight!

Have you tried skiing? I can’t wait for my next skiing trip!

I’m sure all of you are aware of the February 14 being Valentine’s Day. Today itself is another interesting date for Chinese worldwide as it’s the Chinese Valentine’s Day. This is the 15th day of the chinese new year (lunar new year changes each year depending on the lunar calendar).

For me, it is also ultra special because it marks the first year anniversary of my Hong Kong wedding (which was Mar 4, 2007 and in chinese calendar it’s the 15th day of the chinese new year). Check out my HK wedding dinner photo and wedding ceremony on our wedding site at http://www.9wedding.com

If you have not enjoyed a proper western valentine’s day last week, take this last chance to tell your loved one how much you appreciate him or her. For sure, the prices of the flowers are way lower this time!

Happy Valentine’s Day ! And if you need to say that out in Chinese, here are the 2 simple ways to say i love you.
- mandarin (used in China, and Taiwan) it’s “wo ai ni”
- cantonese (used in Hong Kong), it’s “ngo oi lei”

For more ways to say i love you, check out our wedding blog at http://www.9weddings.com and search for the word i love you.

So, what colour is your wedding shoe? Here’s a joke about choosing your wedding shoes.

Jane and Jim has been married for 25 years and wanted to renew their vows. It was going to be a great celebration and while having dinner with their friends, Jane was happily describing the wedding dress that she will be wearing.

Their friend, Amy asked, so “what color of wedding shoes you will be wearing?”

Jane : It’s going to be Silver! It matches the beads on my wedding dress.

Jim replied ” Yeah, and it matches your hair colour too!” laughing out loud.

Amy turned towards Jim and said “So i guess Jim, you’ll be going bare foot then?”

How to say i love you?

On my custom made wedding card, we printed out different popular languages that you can use to say I Love You. Here are a list of the ones we listed in our wedding invitation card.

Chinese : Ngo Oi Lei (Cantonese) or Wo Ai Ni (Mandarin)
Malay : Saya Cinta Mu (also works for Indonesian language)
Japanese : Ai Shiteru
Korean : Sarang Hae Yo
Italian : Ti Amo
Spanish / Latin : Te Amo
French : Je T’aime
German : Ich Liebe Dich

These are the love phrases that i know, how about you?

There are some that are pretty easy to remember too such as this one:-

Tagalog (Philippines language) : Mahal Kita
- this so happens to mean Expensive Us in Malay!

How many languages do you know? Have you even tried to use “sign language” to show I Love You?

I love stories and every night, Harrace will tell me jokes and stories for 10 minutes or so, before i can fall asleep. Here is a romantic story that he shared with me just now over tea as i was feeling a little stressed today. I hope you enjoy this love story as much as i did.

An old man visits the hospital at 8am and waits anxiously for his turn to see the doctor. The doctor arrived and asked him why was he so early as his appointment was scheduled at 9am. The old man commented that 9am was the earliest allowed time slot for appointment as stated by the nurse at the doctor’s office, but he tried his luck to see whether he can meet the doctor earlier as he has to accompany his wife for breakfast at 9.30am.

Looking at the commited man, the doctor agreed to start his consultation earlier and brought him into the room. As they both chatted, here is the conversation that took place :-
Doctor : Why didn’t you have breakfast with your wife first before coming to the clinic?
Old man : For the past 30 years, i have always accompanied my wife for breakfast at 9.30am without fail so i plan to keep this promise
Doctor : Is she waiting for you at home?
Old man : No, she’s sick and at the hospital. Since 3 years ago, she had Alzheimer’s and couldn’t even remember who i am.
Doctor : So she does not even recognise you yet you visit her every day without fail?
Old man : She might not remember our relationship nor recognise me, but I DO!

After listening to such a romantic story, my tears started to roll down as it was just so touching! How many of us could keep to our promise to a loved one even if they forgot about this promise?

Do you wear a wedding ring?

Last week, i was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, and there was a nice European gentleman next to me. We had a fun time talking about living in Asia, as he has been in different Asian cities since 1997. Halfway through the conversation, he made a remark, which was, “How come you are not wearing your wedding band?”

Actually, both me & Harrace do not wear our wedding band. How about you? I like to have different accessories to match my different outfits, such as gold coloured huge rings to match a red bold jacket, and cute rings when i have a more “girlie” attire on. Therefore, for both of us, we did not mind not wearing a wedding band on our finger even after the wedding.

How did you choose your wedding ring? We preferred classic designs and in white gold or platinum rather than gold wedding bands. Our original choice of wedding ring was quite unique, with the groom wedding band with blue sapphire and the bride wedding band with red ruby stone. To fit with our “frog prince” concept, we even had each wedding ring with a king and queen crown on the platinum setting. Then towards our wedding reception, the jeweller who custom made the pair of wedding band for us, made a mistake and created bands which were too big for our fingers. Harrace could even wear my “bride” ruby ring so you can visualise how huge the ring size was.

Finally, we changed to a more simple wedding ring design, platinum with diamond and borders on the side of the ring. The wedding ring even came with a pink heart shaped ring holder. The only times we wore the wedding rings were when we exchanged vows in Hong Kong and Malaysia during the wedding dinner.

If you have found your true partner, then wearing your ring or not is not such a big deal after all, don’t you think?
